Six Malaysians Sentenced in Singapore Over S$4.9M Crypto & Poker Heist According to Lianhe Zaobao, six Malaysian men were convicted and sentenced in the High Court of Singapore on September 14 for their roles in an armed robbery that occurred in Bukit Timah in 2024, with the two ringleaders each receiving 12 years and 11 months' imprisonment alongside 24 strokes of the cane. Court documents revealed that the perpetrators learned that high-stakes poker games were frequently hosted at a luxury residential property, with players routinely settling wagers in cryptocurrency; the robbers then broke into the premises armed with weapons, coerced players into transferring crypto assets to designated wallets, and looted cash and luxury items valued at ~S$4.906 million in total. To date, police have recovered cryptocurrency valued at around S$1.69 million, while the remainder of the stolen funds and property remains unaccounted for.
