$IOTX is coming home. IOTX launched in 2018 as an ERC-20 on Ethereum. A year later IoTeX mainnet went live, and native IOTX took over the real work: paying for gas, securing the network through staking, and settling everything on IoTeX L1. But the 2018 contract never fully went away, leaving IOTX split across two forms. Today we start consolidating it. Introducing the IOTX Redemption Portal: → http://hub.iotex.io/redeem → Legacy ERC-20 IOTX in, native IOTX out → 1:1, zero fees → Connect, send, sign. Native IOTX lands at the same address. The world's biggest platforms are already there. @Revolut, Europe's largest fintech with 70M+ customers worldwide, now supports native IOTX. So does @BitkubOfficial, Thailand's largest licensed exchange. They join Binance, Upbit, Bithumb, Kraken, http://Crypto.com and more, which already support native IOTX. Why now? The internet connected computers. We're connecting intelligence: the models, Macs, machines and agents now running everywhere, on an open, verifiable network. IOTX is at the core of that network. And it starts with one clean supply.

We agree with @VitalikButerin: don't scramble, but take it seriously. A view from our cryptography team: What changed this week isn't a broken curve. Nobody has shown an attack on ECDSA. What changed is the planning assumption. We used to ask "when will quantum computers arrive?" Now we also have to ask "how fast will AI move the math?" Fortunately, IoTeX has been working on this since May. IIP-64, our post-AI post-quantum migration proposal, already includes hash-based (SLH-DSA) signatures, an algorithm-agile precompile and key registry, and zero-knowledge migration proofs for accounts whose keys are still hidden. An update and potentially a vote on this IIP are coming shortly. Open, verifiable systems are only as strong as the math under them. 👇

IoTeX v2.5.0 (Zanzibar Hardfork) is officially out! 🌐 MainNet activation: Block 53,533,081 (est. Oct 19, 02:00 UTC). This is a massive protocol upgrade that moves staking rewards fully on-chain, tightens EVM precision, and lays the security groundwork for our next phase of scalability. Here is how it impacts the network: 🗳️ 1. Fully Decentralized Staking Rewards (IIP-59) - The Tech: Voter rewards are now natively computed and distributed by the protocol itself at era boundaries (24 epochs). - The Impact: Zero reliance on off-chain services (like Hermes). Staking yields are now 100% trustless and automated. We’ve designed this for a seamless transition—most Hermes-vault delegates with complete reward portions will be migrated automatically at the fork block. ⚡️ 2. EVM Precision & Gas Savings - The Tech: Corrected GetCommittedState for absent prestates and fixed SELFDESTRUCT transfer-log amounts. - The Impact: Strict compliance with EIP-2200 dynamic gas rules. For developers and users, this prevents massive gas overcharging on certain in-place writes (saving 2,800 gas per hit). For indexers and wallets, token balance histories reconstructed from tx logs are now perfectly accurate. 🛡️ 3. Proactive Security (BLS PoP) - The Tech: BLS proof-of-possession is now enforced on candidate register/update operations. - The Impact: This completely closes the rogue-key forgery window today, safely paving the runway for IIP-52 signature aggregation (massive network scalability) tomorrow. (Note: Providing a BLS key is now optional until IIP-52 is live). 🖥️ 4. Zero-Friction Upgrades for Node Operators - The Tech: The hardfork heights and new contract addresses are baked directly into the binary. - The Impact: No genesis replacements. No config changes. Just a pure, clean binary roll. 👉 docker pull iotex/iotex-core:v2.5.0 and restart. Dive into the full technical details here: https://github.com/iotexproject/iotex-bootstrap/blob/master/changelog/v2.5.0-release-note.md

At the inaugural Innovation Advisory Committee meeting, Chair Michael Selig laid out a roadmap for three emerging areas: crypto assets, prediction markets—and compute & AI markets. This is where "AI x Crypto" stops being just a narrative and becomes a hard market structure question: Who owns the compute? Who owns the models and data? And what happens when these assets trade? Intelligence is becoming an asset class. The open question is whether it will be owned by everyone, or monopolized by six companies.

IIP-59 is officially coming to a vote on the IoTeX Hub. 🗳️ Right now, voter rewards run through Hermes—an off-chain service that holds keys, computes payouts outside consensus, and charges a fee. IIP-59 moves everything directly into the protocol: → No service fees. Voters keep 100% of their yield. → Zero downtime. Rewards no longer rely on external servers. → Enforced by block validation, not by trust. → Optional auto-compounding into your staking bucket. True decentralization isn't just an announcement. It’s deleting the parts that require trust. Voting opens Aug 7, 5:00 PM PT and runs through Aug 15. 👉 http://hub.iotex.io/governance/iip-59-protocol-native-voter-reward-distribution

GoPlus February Web3 Security Data Report In February 2026, Web3 suffered $35,736,999 in economic losses due to major security incidents. Types of security incidents included smart contract vulnerabilities, social engineering attacks, phishing attacks, honeypot scams, and rug pulls. Exploit In February, Exploits (including contract attacks, social engineering fraud, private key leaks, etc.) caused $27,737,214 in losses across 13 major incidents. Representative cases include: Feb 2: The cross-chain liquidity protocol CrossCurve was attacked due to a verification bypass vulnerability in its smart contract. The attacker forged cross-chain messages to withdraw funds, resulting in approximately $3 million stolen. Feb 18: DeFi lending protocol Moonwell was hacked. The root cause was a critical vulnerability in AI-generated smart contract code (price configuration issue). Attackers exploited price deviations to borrow excessively, resulting in about $1.78 million in bad debt. Unfortunately, this was the third attack caused by the same type of vulnerability within six months, bringing the total bad debt to over $5 million. Feb 21: The ioTube cross-chain bridge of IoTeX suffered a breach due to an Ethereum validator private key leak, allowing attackers to gain unauthorized control of the bridge contract. The incident resulted in approximately $4.4 million in losses. Feb 22: Lending protocol YieldBlox on the Stellar Network suffered an oracle manipulation attack. Attackers exploited extremely low liquidity to artificially inflate oracle prices and conduct excessive borrowing, leading to losses of approximately $10 million in USDC and XLM. Feb 26: Privacy gaming platform FOOMCASH had its smart contracts on Base and Ethereum exploited. Due to misconfigured verification keys, attackers were able to forge zkSNARK proofs and mint large amounts of FOOM tokens, causing approximately $2.26 million in losses. Phishing In February, phishing attacks caused approximately $5 million in losses, affecting around 4,000 victims. Feb 17: A user lost approximately $600,000 due to an address poisoning attack. Feb 19: A user lost about $337K in USDT after signing a malicious Approve transaction. Feb 25: Another user lost about $388K in USDT after signing a malicious Approve transaction. Attackers leveraged Phishing-as-a-Service (PhaaS) and AI technologies, significantly lowering the cost of building phishing sites and enabling large-scale phishing attacks across multiple ecosystems and communities. For users, it is essential to cultivate a Zero-Trust security mindset and operational habits. Remember the #GoPlus anti-phishing “Four Don’ts” principle: Don’t Click unknown links Don’t Install software from unknown sources Don’t Sign unclear wallet transactions Don’t Transfer funds to unverified addresses Install the GoPlus Security browser extension to block phishing links, risky signatures, approvals, and transactions in real time: https://chromewebstore.google.com/search/GoPlus HoneyPot & Scam In February, the GoPlus Token Security team detected 2,391 newly created honeypot tokens, an increase of nearly 500% compared to the previous month. A significant portion of these scams were related to the recent hype around AI Agents and OpenClaw. Breakdown by chain: Ethereum: 176 new honeypot tokens Base: 796 new honeypot tokens BSC: 1,158 new honeypot tokens
