Seoul 🇰🇷 We came, we built, we showed the future of DeFi. CIS was just the beginning. We took the stage and showcased the power of DeFi, what we’re doing at SynFutures, the Entropy upgrade, and the upcoming SynFutures Mainnet launch 💙 Where to next? Let us know below 👇

Entropy Upgrade: SynFutures’ Path to On-Chain Orderbooks Entropy is the next major design upgrade from SynFutures, introducing a scalable path to fully on-chain orderbooks. Every serious market in the world runs on an orderbook. Stocks. Futures. Foreign exchange. Options. Commodities. The orderbook is the backbone of price discovery --- buyers and sellers posting limit orders at specific prices, matched in real time. DeFi doesn't have this. Instead, it has AMMs --- automated market makers that use mathematical formulas to set prices. AMMs were a breakthrough for permissionless trading, but they come with fundamental limitations that every DeFi trader knows too well. Every swap moves the price --- even tiny ones. There is no such thing as a fill at a fixed price. Slippage is baked into the mechanism. Worse, this price-moving property is what makes sandwich attacks profitable: an attacker pushes the price before your trade and reverses it after, extracting value from the very reversibility of the AMM formula. And if you're providing liquidity, you face impermanent loss with no ability to set the prices at which you're willing to trade. The reason DeFi doesn't have real orderbooks isn't a lack of ambition. It's a technical barrier. On a blockchain, every operation costs gas. The more price levels a trade crosses, the more gas it costs. Past a certain point, the gas cost exceeds what a single transaction can hold, and the trade simply cannot execute. This isn't even unique to orderbooks --- tick-based AMMs like Uniswap V3 face the same problem. A swap that crosses many ticks with thin liquidity at each one costs an unreasonable amount of gas, because every tick boundary requires a storage update. At SynFutures, we believe the next evolution of DeFi trading is the return of the orderbook, fully on-chain. Entropy marks the beginning of a series of core design upgrades coming to SynFutures. Entropy is SynFutures’ on-chain orderbook design upgrade that breaks this barrier. The name is not accidental. In physics, entropy defines the arrow of time --- the irreversible direction in which events unfold. In Entropy, the same principle applies to the orderbook. As trades sweep through the market, a monotonic boundary advances forward, and matched orders are discovered along this arrow of time. No order is lost. No fill is missed. The system simply moves forward, and every participant can determine the outcome of their order at any point in the future. A DEX That Never Runs Out of Gas The core problem with every previous attempt at an on-chain orderbook is that cost scales with the size of the trade. A small trade is cheap. A large trade that sweeps through many price levels becomes expensive --- and eventually impossible, because blockchain transactions have hard gas limits. Entropy eliminates this scaling problem. Whether a trade touches 10 price levels or 10,000, the execution cost stays within a narrow range. A retail trader swapping a few hundred dollars and a whale moving millions both get reliable, predictable execution --- on-chain, atomically, in one block. This isn't a theoretical improvement. It's what makes an on-chain orderbook viable for everyone, at every scale. Real Limit Orders, On-Chain The Entropy design update brings the trading experience of a centralized exchange to DeFi: Place limit orders at exact prices: Set your bid at $3,001.15, your ask at $3,002.30. If the market reaches your price, you get filled. If not, you cancel. No slippage. Millions of price levels: The same granularity you expect from Binance or Coinbase --- cent-level precision for major pairs. No impermanent loss: You provide liquidity by placing orders at prices you choose. If you get filled, you traded at the price you wanted. If the market moves away, your order sits unfilled and you lose nothing. Fully non-custodial: Your funds stay in the smart contract. No operator, no KYC, no counterparty risk. Every order and every fill is verifiable on-chain. Built for Professional Market Makers Professional market makers have largely sat out DeFi. AMMs don't give them the control they need --- specific price levels, rapid quote updates, and the ability to earn the bid-ask spread. Entropy changes this. Market makers can operate the same way they do on centralized exchanges: post bids and asks at precise prices, adjust quotes in real time, and earn the spread. The cost of updating a quote is under a cent on modern L2s. When professional market makers participate, everyone benefits. Tighter spreads. Deeper liquidity. Better execution for retail traders. The Math Behind It Entropy's efficiency rests on a tree structure designed specifically for on-chain execution. But blockchains have no native tree. There are no pointers, no nodes, no edges --- only flat key-value storage. We discovered an algebro-geometric duality: the tree is isometrically isomorphic to a partially ordered collection of sets. Each node N in the tree has a related set M(N), and the distance between any two nodes equals the symmetric difference of their related sets: \\[ \\mathrm{dist}(N_1,\\, N_2) \\;=\\; \\big|\\,\\mathcal{M}(N_1)\\;\\triangle\\;\\mathcal{M}(N_2)\\,\\big| \\] This duality entirely removes the need to maintain a tree on-chain. Every tree operation --- parent, root, distance, traversal --- can be calculated by modular arithmetic. Where We Are Entropy is the core design upgrade from SynFutures, bringing the first of many major architectural upgrades, laying the foundation for the next generation of on-chain orderbooks. The algorithm is fully specified and formally verified. The core logic has been stress-tested with over a million randomized operations without a single invariant violation. Smart contract deployment is next. We believe the orderbook is the natural endgame for decentralized trading. AMMs were the beginning. Entropy is the path forward. Follow SynFutures on X to get the latest as we roll out the next upgrades. Entropy --- The only path to on-chain orderbooks by SynFutures.
