Done. Proposal #39 cleared the community veto window and is executed on both L1 and L2. The ERC20Vault now supports permit and Permit2, bridge tokens without a separate approve transaction. The bridge's Ether-payout gas cap is raised ahead of EIP-8037. And a new BridgedERC20V2 template ships on both chains. Tested end to end across ETH, ERC20, ERC721 and ERC1155, in both directions. https://dao.taiko.xyz/plugins/community-proposals/#/proposals/39

🗳 Taiko DAO: Security Council Proposal #24 is up. TAIKO holders have a ~10 days remaining window to veto it. WHAT IT DOES It upgrades four proxies — the Bridge and the ERC20Vault on both Ethereum and Taiko — and registers a new resolver on L2. No new contract code ships with it: everything in it was already written, reviewed and merged. The proposal only points the live proxies at it. 1. Bridge ETH deliveries stop running out of gas. The gas the bridge forwards when it sends ETH to a recipient goes from 35,000 to 135,000. Under EIP-8037 (Glamsterdam), writing one fresh storage slot costs 97,920 gas out of the recipient's own budget — so a smart-contract wallet that does any bookkeeping when it receives ETH would fail. And because a failed ETH send reverts the whole message, those inbound messages would become permanently unclaimable. This raises the cap before that can happen. 2. One-signature token bridging. The ERC20 vaults gain sendTokenWithPermit (EIP-2612) and sendTokenWithPermit2 (Uniswap's Permit2, which works for any ERC20) — no separate approve transaction. Both are opt-in additions; sendToken, deliveries and recalls are unchanged. 3. A real bug gets fixed. Right now, the first time a token whose home chain is Taiko is bridged to Ethereum, the delivery can't complete: the L1 registry still points at a July 2024 bridged-token implementation that the vault — upgraded in June — can no longer initialise. The message parks as RETRIABLE rather than failing outright, so the funds stay safe in the bridge, but the tokens don't arrive. This proposal registers a working implementation, and a message parked this way can then be retried through. Not touched: storage layouts, ownership, initializers, the NFT vaults, existing bridged tokens, or any other network. PLEASE REVIEW IT This upgrades contracts that custody bridged funds. Don't take our word for it. The full runbook — every address, the storage-layout diff, the on-chain verification commands, and a fork rehearsal against live mainnet state — is public: http://github.com/taikoxyz/taiko-mono/blob/main/packages/protocol/script/layer1/proposals/Proposal0024.md If you find a problem, email security@taiko.xyz. And if you hold TAIKO and conclude this isn't in your interest, you don't need anyone's permission — veto it. That's what the window is for. 👉 http://dao.taiko.xyz/plugins/taiko-council/#/proposals/24

Taiko is ready to come back online. The June 21 attack path is closed, the fixes have been reviewed by independent security experts, and we have a clear, staged plan to restore the chain. We're doing it in four careful steps, to ensure user’s security and stability before it goes live: 1. Deploy the fixes and confirm the chain's finalized state is correct, with no forged checkpoints or attacker claims reachable. This will go through the Security Council. 2. Replenish the bridge so every L2 asset is backed 1:1, verifiable on-chain by anyone. 3. Bring the network back: transfers, swaps and trading on L2, live again. 4. Reopen the bridge: after we see the chain finalizing successfully and the network stable, the bridge will be unpaused via a proposal from our Security Council. At this point, operations have been fully restored and users will be able to move funds to and from Taiko freely. We're reopening with conservative withdrawal quotas as an added safeguard, which we don't expect to limit anyone's ability to move assets. No user will lose funds. We're coming back stronger than before. We'll never DM you first and there's no claim site, only trust this account.

⚠️ End of day update: We've identified the root cause of the attack and are working on a fix to bring the chain back online. We're also working with exchanges and security partners to track and freeze the attacker's assets. The remaining funds in the bridge are safe, and we'll share next steps in the coming updates. We'll pause updates for a few hours to focus on the fix and on protecting user assets. One thing is certain, we come back stronger 💪

Taiko Urges Users to Withdraw From Bridges After Verification Mechanism Compromise Taiko said in a security notice that it has confirmed a compromise of its chain state verification mechanism, and that the security assumptions of all bridges deployed on Taiko can no longer be relied upon. Taiko strongly advised users to immediately withdraw funds from all relevant bridges and requested centralized exchanges to suspend TAIKO deposits until further official notice. Earlier, Blockaid said Taiko’s ERC20 Vault on Ethereum had been attacked, with losses exceeding $1 million. Preliminary analysis showed the vulnerability stemmed from a flaw in the source-signal proof verification mechanism of Taiko’s bridge.

Measuring ZK: Introducing TaikoProofs 🦾 Verification, not just claims. ZK proving is foundational to Taiko’s design. As a based rollup, Taiko relies on ZK proofs to ensure trust minimized block verification while staying aligned with Ethereum’s core principles. Making ZK guarantees observable is critical for both external credibility and internal accountability 🥁 Introducing TaikoProofs. Inspired by the transparency of Ethproofs, TaikoProofs is our new dashboard. It provides a real time window into the following metrics: 1️⃣ZK Coverage: Real time tracking of our ZK coverage and proof time across all batches. While we target 100 percent ZK coverage and aim to enforce this at the protocol level, this dashboard shows the complete picture, including any operational variations. This puts us on the right path to track and address any batches that are not yet provable by ZK. 2️⃣Proof Latency: Tracking how fast ZK proofs are generated, verified, and batches finalized. Transparency means showing the work, not just the results. TaikoProofs gives the community direct visibility into our proving coverage, with the ability to dive into the specifics of each batch 💜 👉 https://proofs.taiko.xyz/

Taiko Takes the W: Fusaka's Here🏆 Ethereum's Fusaka upgrade went live today. PeerDAS activated, blob capacity jumped from 6 to 9 (with more increases coming in the next few weeks), and data availability just got cheaper across the board for every rollup posting to L1. For most L2s, this means reworking infrastructure, updating clients, and coordinating upgrades to take advantage of the new economics. For Taiko, it means waking up to a better chain. That's the point of being based. When Ethereum improves its base layer, whether it's data availability, throughput, or security, Taiko inherits it automatically. No migration, no integration work, no architectural overhaul. The chain you built on just got faster and cheaper because the foundation improved. PeerDAS lowers costs for everyone. But based rollups get the added benefit of tighter coupling with L1's ongoing upgrades. Ethereum's roadmap is Taiko's roadmap. When the network scales, we scale. When validator coordination improves, our sequencing improves. Fusaka isn't about Taiko specifically. That's exactly why it matters.

    Boundless (@boundless_xyz)

It’s been one month since Boundless went live. In that time, the network has grown faster and larger than any proof network before it, setting new records in scale, efficiency, and reliability. A Record-Breaking Launch In its first month, the Boundless market processed more than ~500T cycles of proving work at a median cost $0.09 USD / Billion cycles. This early growth represents more than raw throughput. It shows the network is ready to handle real demand from rollups, protocols, and applications across every chain. A Growing Network of Proof In just four weeks, another 50 independent provers have joined the open marketplace. Competition among them has already driven costs down and improved performance. Locked orders are being fulfilled with 99.9 percent reliability, showing that decentralization and service-level consistency can scale together. Confidence in The Network More than 15 million ZKC are now staked across the network. This reflects strong confidence from operators and participants who secure the protocol and sustain a healthy proving economy. What’s Next Boundless is now onboarding partners to mainnet such as BOB, MegaETH, and Taiko, each integrating Boundless ZK proofs directly into their networks. These partnerships mark the beginning of a broader mission to prove every chain and power the next generation of verifiable applications. After one month, Boundless stands as: → The most active and largest proof network ever launched → Delivering proofs at record-low cost → Secured by millions in stake The foundation is set. The future is Boundless.
