LATEST: CleanSpark ($CLSK) recently signed its first AI data center contract, and Clear Street's Brian Dobson says the Bitcoin miner-to-HPC pivot "is nowhere close to being over." $CORZ, $HUT, and $WULF have already inked deals. Now the question is execution.

Crypto stocks posted some of the strongest gains on Wall Street on July 27, 2026, even as the broader market finished mixed and AI infrastructure shares came under pressure. The Dow rose 0.51 percent to 52,210.08, the S&P 500 edged up 0.02 percent to 7,413.18, and the Nasdaq slipped roughly 0.2 percent. Capital rotated out of chipmakers and data-center names into crypto equities, while bitcoin miners lagged. Bitmine Immersion climbed more than 11 percent after buying nearly 10,000 ether tokens worth about 19.4 million dollars, lifting its holdings to roughly 5.79 million tokens and total crypto-plus-cash assets to around 11.8 billion dollars. Strategy gained about 7 percent after adding to its cash reserves for a fifth straight week, reaching approximately 3.75 billion dollars while holding its bitcoin position steady at 843,775 coins. Coinbase, BitGo and Figure Technology each advanced 4 to 6 percent, and Circle rose 2 percent on its acquisition of IBM’s blockchain patent portfolio of nearly 1,000 patents. Bitcoin mining stocks moved lower. Cipher Mining fell about 8 percent, Core Scientific dropped 9 percent, Hut 8 declined roughly 6 percent, and Riot, CleanSpark, MARA and TeraWulf each slipped 3 to 5 percent. Most public miners have expanded into high-performance computing and AI data centers, so investors now treat them more as digital-infrastructure plays than pure bitcoin producers, causing them to trade in tandem with the AI complex. Spot bitcoin remained little changed in the mid-64,000-dollar range, while ether held near 1,900 dollars. The rotation away from AI was fueled by concerns over circular financing and heavy capital needs, including reports that Nvidia is discussing a financial backstop of up to 250 billion dollars for OpenAI’s planned Ohio data-center lease. Nvidia shares fell nearly 5 percent, AMD more than 7 percent, and other chipmakers also sold off. Macro conditions supported the shift. The 10-year Treasury yield eased to about 4.64 percent. Crude oil prices plunged more than 9 percent after the United States and Iran paused strikes in their ongoing conflict, reducing supply-disruption fears and freeing risk capital. The Federal Reserve meets through July 29 with rates in the 3.50–3.75 percent range, while major technology earnings arrive this week. The session showed how quickly capital can reallocate when AI financing questions, geopolitical de-escalation and softer yields coincide. Crypto stocks captured the alternative-theme bid, while the hybrid nature of most bitcoin miners left them on the wrong side of the same trade.

According to CryptoSlate, 70% of the world’s top 10 Bitcoin miners now rely on AI revenue to endure the bear market. Seven major firms — including Marathon, CleanSpark, Iris Energy, TeraWulf, and Core Scientific — have launched or profit from AI/HPC operations, while the remaining three are planning to do so. AI hosting revenue now exceeds traditional mining, generating about 50% higher annual income per MW. https://t.co/NzvoTklok6

A number of thoroughly roughed-up bitcoin miners are having a day today after CoreWeave inked a $4B data center deal with OpenAI. $HUT, $WULF, $HIVE, $CIFR are all ahead 10%-20%. $CRWV is up 26%. @sndr_krisztian reports trib.al/xbHISAi
