Ledger CTO: 4,000 BTC Pegged Out of Liquid Bridge, “Whitehat” Claim Raises Doubts Ledger CTO Charles Guillemet said about 4,000 BTC were pegged out of the Liquid bridge, with an OP_RETURN message stating, “we are whitehats. contact us on chain.” He argued that white hats do not drain a bridge and then solicit contact on-chain, saying the situation echoed the Ronin hack, where attackers compromised validator keys to steal roughly $625 million, while the “let’s talk” framing resembled the approach used by the Euler attacker to negotiate a return of funds after the exploit. Blockstream has responded on-chain, asking the party to contact its security team.
