BlackRock: Bitcoin’s 50%+ Pullback Does Not Change Its Long-Term Investment Case BlackRock said in its latest report that Bitcoin fell more than 50% from its October 2025 all-time high, driven mainly by deleveraging, weaker capital flows, and slower buying from digital asset treasuries, rather than a change in its long-term investment case. At the time, open interest in crypto futures exceeded $90 billion, with about 80% coming from perpetual futures outside the CME; subsequent tariff shocks triggered multiple waves of liquidations, pushing Bitcoin below $60,000 in June 2026. Meanwhile, spot Bitcoin ETPs attracted about $60 billion in cumulative inflows from January 2024 to October 2025, followed by about $5 billion in net outflows, while AI-focused funds saw more than $46 billion in inflows over the same period. Selling by Strategy and other digital asset treasuries and large holders also added to market pressure. BlackRock continues to view a small Bitcoin allocation as a potential portfolio diversification tool and a potential hedge against declining fiat purchasing power.
