On July 30th, the Incentives Committee ended EIGEN emissions to the ETH quorum, the ETH and LST stake used to provide security across EigenLayer and EigenDA. The decision was made by the Incentives Committee in consultation with operators, ecosystem projects and customers. These incentives were introduced to bootstrap early participation into EigenLayer and EigenDA. Both protocols have since matured and those bootstrap subsidies have served their purpose. The EIGEN emissions previously allocated to this quorum will be burned. This is part of the Incentives Committee’s broader mandate to reduce emissions that no longer create durable value, direct incentives toward activities that do and ensure EIGEN monetary policy supports long-term value accrual.
