Galaxy Research Confirms 1,719 BTC Stolen in Coldcard Exploit, Total Losses May Exceed $130 Million Galaxy Research said it has confirmed with high confidence that 1,719 BTC, worth roughly $111 million, has been stolen in the Coldcard security incident, while total losses are likely to exceed $130 million. The research team has identified more than 25 separate attack patterns and believes multiple threat actors are actively exploiting the vulnerability. It has received reports from more than 250 victims, and said losses could exceed 2,300 BTC if all outstanding cases are ultimately confirmed. Galaxy Research added that there is currently no evidence the bug affects signing devices or wallets beyond Coldcard Mk3, Mk4, Mk5 and Q.
