Governance Proposal: Temporary Revenue Reallocation to Accelerate QuickSwap Protocol Expansion The purpose of this proposal is to provide the QuickSwap Foundation with additional resources and operational flexibility to pursue an aggressive period of protocol expansion, product development, integrations, partnerships, and revenue growth. One of the primary areas of expansion will be QuickSwapâs new CLOB-based DEX and white-label exchange infrastructure, although the funding and authority provided under this proposal will support the broader growth of the QuickSwap protocol and ecosystem. This proposal seeks DAO approval to temporarily adjust the distribution of QuickSwapâs protocol revenue from: 30% to the QuickSwap Foundation 70% to the QuickSwap DAO to: 80% to the QuickSwap Foundation 20% to the QuickSwap DAO This temporary allocation would remain in effect for a period of 3 months from the date of implementation. Continue reading the entire proposal below for more details and information. Next Steps: To begin, the governance discussion will run on the official Telegram and Discord community chats until Thursday, August 6 at 12:00 PM UTC Once the discussion finishes, a Snapshot vote will be initiated and run until Monday, August 10 at 12:00 PM UTC Once youâve read this entire blog post, make sure to visit the community chats to share your perspective with your fellow community members Motivation QuickSwap is entering an important phase of growth. The protocol has an opportunity to expand beyond its existing AMM products, enter new markets, launch additional infrastructure, establish new partnerships, and develop products capable of generating meaningful new revenue streams. To capitalize on these opportunities, QuickSwap must be able to move quickly and deploy resources aggressively. The current 30% Foundation revenue allocation supports the protocolâs existing operations. However, it limits the Foundationâs ability to simultaneously maintain current products while funding significant expansion across development, business operations, infrastructure, marketing, liquidity, integrations, partnerships, and new product launches. The proposed temporary allocation is intended to give the Foundation the resources required to accelerate the protocolâs growth rather than operating under a constrained maintenance-focused budget. This is a temporary reinvestment of protocol revenue into QuickSwapâs expansion, with the objective of increasing the protocolâs long-term competitiveness, adoption, revenue, and value to the DAO and QUICK holders. Protocol Expansion Strategy The additional revenue would be used to pursue a broad protocol expansion strategy. This may include: Developing and launching new QuickSwap products. Expanding QuickSwap across additional chains and ecosystems. Pursuing integrations with wallets, protocols, exchanges, applications, and infrastructure providers. Increasing business development and partnership activity. Strengthening QuickSwapâs engineering, operations, and contributor capacity. Expanding marketing, communications, and user-acquisition efforts. Supporting liquidity, incentives, and market-making arrangements. Funding smart contract development, security audits, infrastructure, and hosting. Developing additional protocol revenue streams. Supporting legal, corporate, compliance, and operational requirements. Responding quickly to strategic opportunities that benefit the protocol. The Foundation would have discretion to allocate resources between these areas based on expected impact, urgency, cost, and the evolving needs of the protocol. CLOB DEX and White-Label Expansion A major focus of the expansion strategy will be the development and commercialization of QuickSwapâs new central limit order book, or CLOB, decentralised exchange infrastructure. The CLOB initiative is intended to expand QuickSwapâs product offering beyond traditional AMM-based trading and create infrastructure that may be deployed through both QuickSwap-branded and white-label exchange solutions. This expansion may provide QuickSwap with opportunities to: Enter new trading markets. Offer more advanced trading functionality. Serve projects, protocols, chains, and institutions seeking exchange infrastructure. Launch customized or branded exchange deployments. Generate revenue from trading, licensing, infrastructure, integrations, and commercial partnerships. Expand QuickSwapâs presence across multiple blockchain ecosystems. Strengthen QuickSwapâs position as a broader decentralized exchange and trading-infrastructure provider. Launching and scaling this initiative will require meaningful investment across engineering, infrastructure, security, liquidity, business development, legal work, marketing, integrations, and commercial operations. While the CLOB and white-label solution will be one of the main areas supported by this proposal, the temporary revenue increase is intended to fund the growth of the QuickSwap protocol as a whole. Temporary Revenue Allocation For 3 months, applicable protocol revenue would be distributed as follows: This proposal does not change the amount of protocol revenue generated or the mechanisms through which it is collected. It only temporarily changes how that revenue is distributed between the Foundation and the DAO. Continued QUICK Buybacks The DAOâs temporary 20% share of protocol revenue will continue to be used for QUICK buybacks under the existing or applicable DAO-approved buyback process. This means that QUICK buybacks will continue throughout the 3-month expansion period. QUICK staking rewards will also continue unaffected by this vote. The proposal is therefore intended to balance two priorities: Directing the majority of short-term protocol revenue toward aggressive expansion and growth. Continuing to return value to the QUICK ecosystem through ongoing buybacks funded by the DAOâs 20% revenue allocation. Delegated Operational Authority To execute an aggressive expansion strategy effectively, the Foundation is also requesting delegated authority to make operational, commercial, and strategic decisions without requiring a separate governance proposal for each individual action. This authority is intended to allow the Foundation to: Act quickly when opportunities arise. Negotiate and enter into commercial arrangements. Hire contributors, developers, contractors, advisors, and service providers. Approve product-development and infrastructure expenditure. Establish partnerships and integrations. Negotiate confidential commercial terms. Allocate resources between products and strategic initiatives. Adjust priorities in response to market conditions, technical requirements, and business opportunities. Take other reasonable actions intended to support QuickSwapâs growth and competitiveness. This delegation is necessary because major product development and commercial expansion frequently require rapid decisions, confidential negotiations, and the ability to commit resources within commercially relevant timeframes. Requiring individual governance approval for every operating decision, expense, integration, or partnership could materially slow execution and cause QuickSwap to lose opportunities to faster-moving competitors. The delegated authority is intended to benefit the protocol and would apply only to decisions reasonably connected to QuickSwapâs operations, development, expansion, and commercialization. Limitations This proposal does not authorize the Foundation to: Permanently change the protocol revenue allocation. Extend the temporary allocation beyond three months without further DAO approval. Change the supply of QUICK. Materially alter the governance rights of QUICK holders. Transfer ownership or control of core DAO assets without appropriate authorization. Make permanent changes to the DAOâs governance structure. Use the DAOâs 20% revenue allocation for purposes other than the applicable DAO-approved process, including the continuation of QUICK buybacks or Treasury expansion. Any action that would ordinarily require a specific DAO governance vote will continue to require DAO approval. Duration and Automatic Reversion The temporary allocation will apply for exactly 3 months from the date it is implemented. After the 3-month period, protocol revenue will automatically return to: 30% to the QuickSwap Foundation 70% to the QuickSwap DAO Any extension, renewal, or permanent change must be approved through a separate governance proposal. Expected Benefits Approval of this proposal is expected to provide QuickSwap with: Greater capacity to fund protocol growth. Faster product development and execution. Increased ability to compete with rapidly expanding protocols. Greater flexibility when negotiating partnerships and integrations. The resources needed to develop and commercialize the CLOB and white-label solution. Increased engineering and operational capacity. Additional opportunities to expand onto new chains and into new markets. The potential to create meaningful new sources of protocol revenue. Continued QUICK buybacks during the temporary expansion period. Greater potential long-term value for the QuickSwap DAO and QUICK holders. Although the DAO will temporarily receive a smaller percentage of protocol revenue, it will continue receiving 20%, which will support ongoing QUICK buybacks. The broader objective is to aggressively reinvest protocol revenue into initiatives that can increase QuickSwapâs future revenue, market presence, product offering, and long-term value. Risks and Mitigations Temporary Reduction in DAO Revenue The DAOâs revenue share will temporarily decrease from 70% to 20%. This is mitigated by the limited 3-month duration, the automatic reversion to the existing allocation, and the continuation of QUICK buybacks using the DAOâs 20% share. Increased Foundation Discretion The Foundation will have greater authority to allocate resources and make operational decisions. This is necessary to support faster execution and is mitigated by the temporary duration, the defined purpose of protocol expansion, the stated limitations, and the commitment to provide a high-level report. Execution Risk Not every investment, product, partnership, or expansion initiative will necessarily produce immediate results. However, maintaining the existing allocation may limit QuickSwapâs ability to pursue growth opportunities and compete effectively. The Foundation believes that the potential long-term benefits justify a temporary period of increased investment. Implementation If approved, the relevant contracts, wallets, multisig instructions, payment processes, or revenue-distribution mechanisms will be updated so that: The QuickSwap Foundation receives 80% of applicable protocol revenue. The QuickSwap DAO receives 20% of applicable protocol revenue. The DAOâs 20% allocation continues to support QUICK buybacks. The temporary allocation begins as soon as reasonably practicable following approval. The revenue allocation automatically returns to 30% Foundation and 70% DAO after three months. The Foundation, DAO contributors, relevant multisig signers, and technical service providers are authorized to take the administrative and technical actions reasonably required to implement this proposal. Voting Options For: Approve the temporary three-month allocation of 80% of protocol revenue to the QuickSwap Foundation and 20% to the QuickSwap DAO, with the DAO allocation continuing to support QUICK buybacks, together with the delegated authority required to accelerate QuickSwapâs protocol expansion. Against: Retain the current allocation of 30% to the QuickSwap Foundation and 70% to the QuickSwap DAO.
