Starknet Signal: July 2026 No Faith Required July saw Starknet take on two of crypto's hardest problems. First, a clear path to post-quantum security came into view. Second, privacy grew up: usable across the Starknet DeFi ecosystem, and buildable for the teams who want to ship it. The throughline: Starknet is turning hard problems into verifiable infrastructure. From Post-Quantum Security to Private DeFi Starknet has long had architectural advantages in both areas. In July, that long-term positioning began to appear as live products and mainnet implementations. @StarkWareLTD published its post-quantum roadmap for Starknet at the end of June. July brought the first proof point: a fully specification-compliant Falcon-512 account executed a live mainnet transfer for approximately $0.06. The roadmap establishes a phased path to protect new activity, bring legacy contracts forward and address the remaining dependencies inherited from Ethereum. Starknet’s architecture provides a strong foundation for that transition. Its STARK proving layer relies on hash-based cryptography rather than the elliptic-curve cryptography most exposed to sufficiently capable quantum computers. Native account abstraction also lets users and applications adopt post-quantum signatures without requiring a breaking change at the protocol level. Starknet v0.14.3 The base layer advanced too. Starknet v0.14.3 went live on mainnet in July. The upgrade introduced more frequent blocks and a dynamic L2 gas base fee, added Keccak support to the in-protocol verifier for private flows using EVM signatures, and replaced the Pedersen hashes used for program and configuration hashes with the quantum-secure BLAKE hash function. Together, these changes make fees more responsive to real network conditions, improve latency and extend the infrastructure available for privacy-related applications. Private DeFi Moves into Practical Use In parallel, Starknet’s native privacy stack moved deeper into practical use: Private swaps went live through @avnu_fi. Private liquid staking launched through @Endurfi. Ready added hardware-wallet support for STRK20 shielding, with Xverse support also on the way. This expansion was reinforced by the open-source release of formal verification comprising more than 230 machine-checked theorems covering the STRK20 privacy pool. The proofs establish core properties including asset integrity, double-spend prevention, exact note accounting and continued access to valid funds. That is the whole point of open-sourcing. Encrypted state cannot be inspected, so a privacy system normally asks users to take it on trust that their funds are safe. Starknet does not ask for trust. The rules are mathematically specified, machine-checked and independently verifiable. No faith required. The rules are enforced by math. Privacy opens to builders The Privacy SDK and Wallet API are now public, making privacy a general-purpose capability available to builders across Starknet. Teams can use it to extend existing wallets, DeFi protocols and applications with private balances, transfers and transactions, or build entirely new products around private interactions. Either way, builders can offer users new ways to transact without having to recreate the underlying cryptographic infrastructure. PROOF Cohort 01 begins Eighty teams applied to the Starknet Foundation’s new accelerator, with ten selected for the eight-week programme. The cohort will work towards shipping investor-grade products, supported by mentors and investors from across the ecosystem. Other Key Highlights Across Starknet @Xverse: Introduced one-click Bitcoin staking directly from the Bitcoin network, reducing the number of steps required to put BTC to work onchain through Starknet. @SatsTerminal: Launched BTC-backed borrowing, giving users another way to unlock liquidity against Bitcoin without selling it. @ExtendedApp: Announced a strategic investment from eToro and a partnership with Zengo. @Medieval_tech: Cage Calls surpassed 20,000 all-time predictions, making it one of the clearest examples of a consumer application built on Starknet that does not feel like a crypto app. @Paradex: Expanded into equity and real-world-asset perpetual markets, including markets tied to Meta, Google, Microsoft and Circle. Spotlight: EveryDayApp @EverydaydotApp has crossed 900 downloads, with more than half of downloaders having completed at least one onchain transaction and more than $12,000 in commitment volume processed to date. Its latest feature, App Screen Minimizer, helps people reduce the time they spend on selected applications without fully locking their phones. It combines flexible focus sessions with optional financial accountability. Starknet’s native account abstraction allows EverydayApp to hide the usual crypto friction. Wallet creation or connection happens during onboarding, relevant gas fees can be sponsored, and onchain commitments and outcomes feel like normal product actions. Next, the team is expanding EverydayApp from an individual accountability tool into a more social habit product. Planned features include group accountability circles, shared reward distribution and a feed for following friends and tracking progress. Starknet by the Numbers $400 million in Starknet TVS More than 67% of the STRK supply is now circulating Total number of shielded assets: 17, with USDC the largest by value Total private inflows and outflows: $4.4 million Cost of the live Falcon-512 mainnet transaction: $0.06
