We're on the verge of AI agents becoming economic actors, and crypto is the natural rail: stablecoins for settlement, x402 for protocol-level payments, and wallets that agents can own. But payments are only one piece of the puzzle. The killer case is cross-organisational improvement without data exposure. Imagine agents deployed across many hospitals, banks, or enterprises, each generating valuable, sensitive interaction data that legally or competitively cannot be shared. That raises a different challenge: how do agents learn from one another without exposing sensitive data or handing everything to a single AI provider? Federated learning is one answer. It enables distributed agents to improve shared models while keeping raw data local. Intelligence is shared. Data isn't. As multi-agent systems become more common, privacy-preserving collaboration will be just as important as payment rails.
