Lumia UnRWApped: June 2026 Welcome to the June edition of Lumia UnRWApped, a monthly recap from @BuildOnLumia. Across capital markets, regulation, payments, and artificial intelligence, tokenization continued its transition from an emerging asset class into a new financial architecture. The conversation is no longer limited to whether assets will move onchain. Institutions are now determining how those assets will be issued, distributed, settled, managed, and accessed at scale. Lumia has consistently approached tokenization as more than the creation of a digital asset. Issuance is only the beginning. The larger opportunity lies in building the infrastructure that makes tokenized assets compliant, liquid, accessible, and usable throughout their entire lifecycle. June made the need for that infrastructure increasingly clear. RWA Participation Keeps Expanding The tokenized RWA market consolidated around $31.5 billion in distributed asset value during June, but the more important signal came from participation. The number of RWA holders climbed 13.8% over 30 days to nearly 944,000. More users are entering the market even while asset value remains relatively stable, suggesting that tokenization is reaching a broader base of participants. Institutional forecasts are also becoming more ambitious. Citi published its Tokenization 2030 report in June, projecting a $5.5 trillion base case for tokenized assets by 2030 and an over $8 trillion bull case. It identified public securities and liquid collateral, particularly U.S. equities and Treasuries, as likely drivers of early adoption. These forecasts are significant, but so are the constraints identified alongside them. Governance, settlement, liquidity, compliance, and distribution remain critical challenges. These are not individual product problems. They are infrastructure problems, and they are precisely the challenges Lumia is building to solve. Lumia’s Portal to the Full-Cycle Economy In June, Lumia introduced Lumia Portal as the unified access layer for its expanding onchain economy. Portal brings Lumia’s products, opportunities, and ecosystem activity into a coherent user journey. It creates a single starting point through which users and issuers can access tokenization, markets, rewards, governance, and the broader Lumia ecosystem, with upcoming AI-assisted discovery and guidance helping users navigate relevant tools and opportunities more efficiently. For issuers, it also provides no-code infrastructure for onboarding, structuring, and tokenizing real-world assets. Financial infrastructure can be technically powerful and still fail to achieve adoption if it remains fragmented or difficult to navigate. Portal addresses that challenge by making Lumia’s full-cycle stack accessible through one clear entry point. Lumia Chain provides the underlying execution environment. Lumia Stream connects assets to liquidity and global distribution. Identity and compliance tooling help manage access requirements. The growing ecosystem provides markets, strategies, applications, and community participation. Portal is where those components become a unified experience. As more assets and applications enter the ecosystem, that access layer becomes increasingly valuable. The objective is not simply to place assets onchain. It is to make the onchain economy usable. Strengthening Lumia’s U.S. Policy Leadership June also marked an important expansion of Lumia’s Public Policy Advisory Board with the appointment of the Honorable Kendrick Meek, former Member of the United States Congress. Meek brings experience across federal legislation, financial policy, and international affairs. His advisory role will support Lumia’s U.S. strategy across policy positioning, institutional engagement, and education around tokenized real-world assets. He joins former Congressmen Tim Ryan and David McIntosh, further strengthening Lumia’s bipartisan policy bench. This matters because regulatory alignment is becoming inseparable from infrastructure development. Institutional adoption requires more than technical performance. It requires workable standards for disclosures, custody, investor eligibility, market access, asset classification, and consumer protection. Lumia’s approach is to participate constructively in those conversations while building infrastructure capable of operating within the frameworks that emerge. The addition of Meek reinforces Lumia’s commitment to helping bridge policymakers, financial institutions, and the builders creating the next generation of markets. The CLARITY Act Moves Toward a Decisive Stage The U.S. digital asset market structure debate also advanced during June. After passing the Senate Banking Committee by a bipartisan 15 to 9 vote on May 14, the CLARITY Act was placed on the Senate Legislative Calendar on June 1, formally making it eligible for consideration by the full Senate. Negotiators are now targeting July for further action, with compromise text expected around the July 4 recess. The legislation seeks to establish clearer boundaries between the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, while defining disclosure, registration, custody, and market conduct requirements for digital asset businesses. Its passage is not guaranteed, and several issues remain under negotiation. Nevertheless, reaching the Senate floor stage represents meaningful progress toward a more predictable U.S. digital asset framework. For RWAs, that predictability is especially important. Tokenized assets frequently combine blockchain infrastructure with existing legal claims, custodial arrangements, investor protections, and financial regulations. Clearer rules can give asset managers, issuers, institutions, and infrastructure providers greater confidence to deploy capital and build in the United States. Lumia has continued to advocate for practical regulation that protects market participants while allowing responsible tokenization infrastructure to scale. Traditional Market Infrastructure Prepares for Production Institutional tokenization is also moving beyond isolated pilots. The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation is preparing to facilitate limited production trades of tokenized securities in July, ahead of the planned commercial launch of its tokenization service in October. More than 50 financial firms are contributing to the initiative, including work around operational standards, technical workflows, and interoperability across different blockchain networks. DTCC sits at the center of traditional post-trade financial infrastructure. Its progression toward production tokenization demonstrates that blockchain-based assets are being considered not merely as new investment products, but as part of the future operating model for capital markets. It also reinforces a central principle behind Lumia: tokenized markets will require interoperability, reliable execution, compliant access, and connectivity to multiple sources of capital. Creating the token is only the first step. The real value emerges when that token can move efficiently across markets and participate in a wider financial system. The Full-Cycle Thesis Gets Stronger June’s developments point toward the same conclusion. Tokenization is becoming larger, but more importantly, it is becoming more complete. Participation is broadening. Asset managers are preparing tokenized products. Traditional market infrastructure is moving toward production. Policymakers are advancing market structure legislation. Global payment companies are building systems for autonomous commerce. Each development creates demand for infrastructure that can connect the entire lifecycle. That is where Lumia is positioned. From compliant asset issuance and global distribution to execution, identity, ecosystem access, and intelligent automation, Lumia is building the infrastructure required to turn tokenized assets into functioning markets. The next phase of RWA adoption will not be defined by how many assets can be placed onchain. It will be defined by what those assets can do once they are there. Follow @BuildOnLumia for ongoing insights into the RWA revolution. See you next month for July’s UnRWApped!
