Sources: ECB President Lagarde Opposed Binance’s Entry Into EU Market; France May Be Its Last MiCA Option French crypto media outlet The Big Whale, citing sources familiar with the matter, reported that ECB President Christine Lagarde expressed opposition to Binance’s entry into the EU market in discussions with the Greek government. Sources believe the intervention may have influenced Greece’s stance on Binance’s MiCA license application. Following reports that Greece’s HCMC is preparing to reject Binance’s MiCA application, France is said to have emerged as Binance’s last viable option to retain access to the European market. Binance previously said it had submitted a comprehensive MiCA application to Greece’s HCMC, which it believes has completed its review and found the application compliant with MiCA requirements. The company added that the application would also be subject to review at the ESMA level.
