STBL (@stbl_official): Decoding the collateral backing RXUSD

Estimated coin impact

Scores are not price-change percentages. High impact means a score of +70 or more, or -70 or less.

Decoding the collateral backing RXUSD For decades, private credit has been one of the most important asset classes in institutional portfolios. Pension funds know it. Endowments know it. Family offices managing nine-figure portfolios know it. But if you were a retail investor or a DeFi user you were locked out entirely. The minimum tickets were too large, the structures too opaque, and the access too restricted. That's changing. And what’s making it happen is RXUSD. What Is Private Credit, Exactly? Private credit refers to loans and debt instruments that aren't traded on public markets. Instead of buying a bond on an exchange, a private credit fund lends directly to companies, often mid-market businesses, real estate developers, or infrastructure projects and earns a yield in return. The numbers have been compelling. Private credit funds have historically targeted mid-to-high single digit to low double digit returns often outperforming public high-yield bonds with less volatility. Why? Because the lenders can negotiate terms directly, include covenants, and often hold senior secured positions on the underlying assets. There's no public market noise. Just a loan, a borrower, and a contractual rate of return. But here's the catch: until very recently, accessing private credit required being an accredited investor, investing through a closed-end fund with a 5–10 year lockup, and writing a check for at least $250,000. The asset class was historically accessible primarily to institutions and accredited investors. What Changed? Two things: tokenization infrastructure matured, and regulated on-chain platforms emerged that could legally represent private credit instruments as digital assets. RXUSD is built on top of one of those platforms — Securitize, the leading regulated tokenization provider in the US. Through Securitize, RXUSD's collateral includes HLSCOPE, a tokenized private credit product that brings institutional-grade private credit yields on-chain. When you mint RXUSD, 30% of your collateral goes into HLSCOPE. That position earns the kind of yield that was previously only available to institutional allocators. The other 70% goes into USDG, a tokenized money market product. Together, they form the collateral backing every RXUSD in circulation. Why Does This Matter for DeFi? Much of DeFi's early yield relied on token incentives and cyclical market activity. The yields that drew attention in 2020 and 2021 were largely inflationary - protocols paying out their own governance tokens to attract liquidity. That was never real yield. It was dilution dressed up as return. Real yield - yield backed by actual economic activity, by borrowers paying interest on real loans has been scarce on-chain. Most of what exists is cyclical: lending rates that spike during bull markets and collapse to near zero during downturns. Private credit tends to be less dependent on crypto market cycles. The loans are fixed-rate or floating-rate tied to benchmarks like SOFR. They're contracted. The yield doesn't evaporate because crypto sentiment shifted. RXUSD brings that stability on-chain at scale, in a form that's directly usable across DeFi protocols — as collateral, as liquidity, as a reserve asset. The Democratization Angle There's a bigger story here than just yield. Private credit has been a primary tool through which institutional wealth has compounded faster than retail wealth for the past two decades. The access gap isn't incidental, it's structural. You needed relationships, accreditation, and minimum tickets that excluded most people. RXUSD and the broader RWA tokenization movement are among the most credible mechanisms yet developed to help narrow that access gap. If you can hold RXUSD, stake it for sRXUSD, and earn private credit yield on any amount, you're accessing an asset class that previously required a $250,000 check minimum and an introduction from a fund manager. That's not a small thing. That's a structural change in who gets to earn institutional returns. The Bottom Line Institutional private credit is increasingly coming on-chain through tokenization, and RXUSD is designed to make that exposure more accessible within DeFi. With RXUSD, DeFi users can access institutional-grade RWA exposure through a familiar on-chain experience. By staking RXUSD into sRXUSD, users can participate in yield generated from an underlying collateral framework that combines tokenized money market exposure and private credit. This matters because the yield is rooted in real-world financial activity rather than token emissions or purely speculative market dynamics. The collateral framework is built on institutional-grade assets and infrastructure that have historically been accessible primarily to large allocators and accredited investors. The question is whether you're positioned before the broader market recognizes the significance of institutional capital, private credit, and real-world assets moving on-chain.
