Where editions become systems Liquid Editions are now live on SuperRare. A new collecting layer for networked art. Digital artists have always worked with systems: time, code, networks, participation, memory, and change. Liquid Editions give those ideas a native collecting format: ERC-20 artworks where the token, market, and collector base can become part of the work itself. What Collecting Does A Liquid Edition is an ERC-20 artwork with a live onchain market. The token is not separate from the art. It is the collecting layer for a dynamic work: a way for collectors to enter, hold, trade, burn, or otherwise participate in a system designed by the artist. Not just: what does the artwork do? But: what does collecting do? A Liquid Edition can respond to: supply price liquidity burn progress token balances collector participation time custom artist-defined rules Some works may shift subtly. Others may reveal, fragment, decay, expand, or transform as the collector base changes around them. For collectors, this creates a different relationship to an artwork. Instead of collecting a fixed object, you can participate in a living work at the scale you choose. The experience may change as the work’s system changes. How Artists Can Build Any artist can build with Liquid Editions through @rare_protocol. SuperRare artists can also create through SuperRare’s guided create flow. For more technical projects, artists and builders can explore the Rare Protocol CLI at rare.xyz/docs. Some Liquid Editions may include optional ERC-721 Lens collections: connected artworks that offer another way to view, collect, or interpret the underlying Liquid Edition. This path is currently supported through an assisted setup. Cohort 01 We’re also assembling Liquid Editions Cohort 01: a small group of artists exploring what this format can become. Dynamic editions. Market-responsive works. Collector-shaped systems. New relationships between artwork, token, and audience. Artists interested in Cohort 01 can reach out to @im_jonooo. Help define the next era of editions on SuperRare.
