The AI Loop #26: Anthropic on Wall Street, the $200B Cloud Race, China’s $50B AI Bet Welcome to The AI Loop #26. Anthropic is a force that can’t be ignored. This week, the company pushed deeper into Wall Street, committed a reported $200B toward cloud infrastructure, and continued expanding its position in the enterprise AI race. More broadly, the pace of AI is accelerating fast globally, with capital, compute, and adoption all scaling at the same time. On the Perle side, the team is currently in Miami for Consensus, staying close to the builders and conversations shaping where things go next. Let’s get into it. Perle Labs Update Consensus Miami Week 🌴 This week, the team flew to Miami for @consensus2026. A big part of what matters right now is proximity. Being in the room with founders, infrastructure teams, researchers, and operators gives you a much clearer sense of where the space is actually moving versus what just trends online for a few days. A lot of the conversations this week have centered around scale, infrastructure, enterprise adoption, and what’s needed to support the next generation of AI systems in production. As the space continues moving quickly, staying close to the people building through it matters more than ever. Top AI Stories Anthropic Pushes Deeper Into Wall Street @AnthropicAI is teaming up with @GoldmanSachs, @blackstone, Hellman & Friedman, and others on a new $1.5B AI venture aimed at deploying Claude directly inside portfolio companies. But this goes beyond simply giving companies access to a model. The new firm plans to embed engineers inside businesses to redesign workflows around AI agents across industries like finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and retail. As Goldman Sachs’ Marc Nachmann put it: “Having the model alone doesn’t change your workflows or how you operate.” That gap between powerful models and real-world deployment is quickly becoming one of the biggest opportunities in AI. Source: CNBC Anthropic Commits $200B to Google Cloud At the same time, reports emerged this week that Anthropic has committed to spending roughly $200B on Google Cloud infrastructure and chips over the next five years. According to reports, the agreement includes massive future TPU capacity coming online starting in 2027 through @Google and Broadcom partnerships. The deal also further deepens the already complicated relationship between Google and Anthropic, where the companies are simultaneously partners, infrastructure providers, investors, and competitors. What’s becoming increasingly clear is that frontier AI is now as much an infrastructure race as it is a model race. Training and running these systems at scale requires enormous long-term compute commitments, and the companies able to secure that capacity early are positioning themselves far ahead of everyone else. Source: Yahoo Finance DeepSeek Eyes $50B Valuation in First Fundraise @deepseek_ai may be preparing for its first-ever fundraising round, with reports suggesting the Chinese AI startup could be valued at up to $50B. That alone would be significant, but what makes this especially interesting is who may be backing it. Sources say China’s national AI fund is in talks to lead the round, alongside reported interest from Tencent. The company has historically rejected outside funding, so this marks a major shift in strategy. The capital is expected to go toward expanding compute capacity and strengthening talent as competition across frontier AI continues heating up globally. Source: Reuters Stay in the Loop That’s a wrap for the week. What stood out this week wasn’t just the technology itself, but the scale forming around it. From Wall Street and enterprise adoption to massive infrastructure commitments, AI is starting to move beyond experimentation and into real-world deployment at a global level. The conversation is no longer just about who has the smartest model. It’s becoming about who can scale, integrate, and support these systems across entire industries.
