Voluntary Redemption for NTRN Holders Disclaimer: This article is for informational purposes only and does not constitute financial advice, an investment recommendation, or a solicitation to buy or sell any token. Do not invest any money that you cannot afford to lose. Participation in the redemption mechanism described below is entirely voluntary and irreversible. Please review all terms carefully before making any decisions. Introduction On March 16, 2026, the Neutron Foundation announced its decision to sunset the foundation and transition the Neutron chain to long-term support. As part of this transition, the Foundation will be wound-down in an orderly manner. This will include the return of remaining treasury assets to the DAO and NTRN holders. These remaining treasury assets will be made available to NTRN holders through a voluntary, permissionless redemption mechanism. This article explains how the redemption process works, what to expect, and how to participate. To be clear: this is not a buyback. It is not a guarantee of value. It is a one-time, voluntary mechanism that allows NTRN holders to burn their tokens, which has the further effect of securing the network, in exchange for a pro-rata share of the Foundation's remaining treasury. How the Redemption Works The redemption follows a simple deposit-and-claim model. Deposit Window A deposit window will open on or about April 1st and remain open for approximately one month. During this period, any NTRN holder can deposit tokens into the redemption contract. There is no advantage to depositing early versus later in the redemption period. The final payout is calculated after the redemption period closes, and all depositors are treated equally regardless of when they chose to participate. Exact dates are subject to change and will be confirmed closer to launch. Irreversible Burns Once tokens are deposited into the redemption contract, they cannot be withdrawn and the action cannot be reversed. Please consider your decision carefully and seek appropriate tax or legal advice before confirming any transaction. Pro-Rata Distribution After the deposit window closes, the total USDC treasury is distributed to all depositors proportionally. Your share is determined by how much NTRN you deposited relative to the total amount deposited by all participants. For example: if you deposit 1% of all NTRN submitted across all participants, you receive 1% of the total USDC pool. Minimum Redemption Price The redemption interface will display a minimum guaranteed payout per NTRN. This represents the floor: the lowest possible value you would receive per token, assuming maximum participation. In practice, the payout per token will likely exceed the displayed minimum, depending on participation levels. The fewer tokens deposited overall, the larger each depositor’s share. The minimum redemption price will be visible on the redemption interface when the deposit window opens. Investor and Backer Tokens All holders are treated the same. No vesting was accelerated, and no preferential treatment was given to any class of holder. Investors participate only with liquid tokens (already claimed). Vesting schedules continue unchanged after the redemption. There is no special mechanism or separate allocation for backers. Executive token packages were terminated as of Jan 1st. All team packages were terminated as of March 16th. If Your NTRN Is on Binance Binance will delist NTRN on April 1, 2026. After delisting, you can still withdraw your NTRN from Binance for up to 3 months, but you will no longer be able to trade or swap it on the exchange. To participate in the redemption, you will need to: Withdraw your NTRN from Binance to a self-custodial wallet (such as Keplr) Use that wallet to deposit into the redemption contract on the Neutron network If you do not already have a Keplr wallet, you can set one up at keplr.app. If you choose not to participate in the redemption, you may also sell your NTRN on Binance before the delisting date or on a decentralized exchange afterward. Timeline April 1: Deposit window opens, Binance delists NTRN (withdrawals available for up to 3 months) April 30: Deposit window closes May 1: Claim period begins; depositors can claim their USDC June 30: Redemption portal support ends All dates are approximate and subject to change. Final dates will be confirmed before the deposit window opens. Frequently Asked Questions Can I cancel my deposit? No. All deposits are final and irreversible. Once your NTRN is deposited, it is burned and cannot be recovered. What’s the minimum deposit? There is no minimum deposit. What if I don’t participate? Your NTRN remains yours. The chain continues under long-term support. You are not required to do anything. What about investor or backer tokens? All holders are treated equally. Investors participate only with their liquid tokens. No vesting was accelerated, and no preferential treatment was given. What is the exact payout per token? The exact payout is not known until the deposit window closes, as it depends on the total number of tokens deposited. The redemption interface will display the guaranteed minimum payout. The actual result will depend on overall participation. Is this a buyback? No. This is a voluntary, permissionless burn-and-claim mechanism. It is not a buyback, not a promise of value, and not financial advice. Is there an advantage to making an early deposit? No. All deposits are treated equally, regardless of when they are submitted during the deposit window. For questions or support, reach out in the Neutron Telegram.
