SEC and CFTC Reach Biggest Regulatory Truce in 10 Years On March 12, Paul Atkins, Chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and Michael Selig, Chair of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, said in an interview with The All-In Podcast that the two agencies are working to end a decades-long "turf war." Atkins said past conflicts between the agencies, especially at the staff level, created a regulatory "no man's land" that killed many innovative products. Selig added both sides are pushing new coordination mechanisms, including signing a memorandum of understanding to share information and exploring "substituted compliance" to avoid companies facing dual regulation. He also noted cross-jurisdiction areas such as prediction markets and crypto protocols are becoming key fields for joint oversight. (The All-In Podcast)
