Systematic $AVNT buy-back & burn is now live. Earlier this year, we introduced a milestone-based buyback program, linking AVNT repurchases to specific revenue thresholds. That framework aligned token economics with protocol growth, and set the foundation for long-term capital discipline https://x.com/avantisfi/status/1976220694024163777 However, after evaluating market conditions, we decided to update that model. Effective immediately, we will now implement a systematic, revenue-linked buyback and burn program, starting with 30% of daily trading revenues (opening, closing and win-fees) to buy-back and burn $AVNT. Why the Shift? Two structural considerations led to this update: 1) Market conditions are variable. Protocol revenues fluctuate with volatility, trading activity, and broader macro cycles. Waiting for fixed revenue thresholds introduces timing friction. A systematic allocation ensures consistent participation across all market conditions, rather than activating only at specific milestones. It also allows the @AvantisFdn to dollar cost average into AVNT, and remove it from the supply at potentially better rates (especially in the current market regime, where asset prices are relatively depressed across the board). 2) Capital alignment works best when continuous. By linking buybacks directly to daily protocol revenue, AVNT’s supply mechanics now move in parallel with platform usage: automatically and transparently. Milestone 1 (30% of fees): Live Immediately Effective immediately: 30% of daily opening, closing and win-fees will be allocated to purchasing AVNT on the open market and burning it. Please note: margin fees and liquidation fees will be excluded from daily buy-backs. This is because of two important reasons: LP protection (risk management): Margin fees compensate an LP for their basic cost of capital, and also hedge against trading volatility and unhedged trades. 100% of margin fees will continue going to protocol LPs, instead of buy backs or towards protocol treasury. Excellent risk management is key to sustainable protocol growth. Liquidation fees: These will continue going towards protocol treasury, to ensure basic operational sustenance for a team of 15. Summary: Current fee allocation Buy-backs: 30% of opening / closing / win fees. LPs: 70% of opening / closing / win fees, and 100% of margin fees (risk management). Liquidation fees: Protocol treasury (operations). The core idea is to function at break-even, while directing almost all other revenue back to token buy-backs and growth (LP + trader incentives). Mechanics + Verifiability. All purchased tokens will be permanently burned. Daily purchases, and burns can be verified in the following places: Official buy-back page (frontend): foundation.avantisfi.com/buybacks Buy-back address (smart contract that currently gets 30% of opening / closing / win fees and burns $AVNT every 6 hours): 0xa75886adA4dE4BA28F2385615216E48e7bEA1410 Burn address (null address which AVNT is sent to permanently remove it from supply): 0x000000000000000000000000000000000000dEaD As protocol revenues increase or decrease, the allocation adjusts proportionally. Milestone 2 - Scaling to 50% of fees. The next milestone increases allocation to: 50%+ of daily trading fees to buy-back and burn $AVNT. However, this step is tied to protocol economic upgrades, not any arbitrary revenue number. Milestone 2 will activate once improvements in LP capital efficiency, liquidity architecture, and system risk management upgrades are complete. In particular, we are evaluating potential removal or restructuring of protocol-owned LP positions, to increase the sustainable fee share captured by the protocol. That additional efficiency enables a higher allocation to token buybacks without compromising trading liquidity or system stability. In short: allocation scales alongside structural upgrades. These are expected to happen by the end of Q2. A Structural Evolution Avantis now introduces a recurring, revenue-backed implementation tailored to its own protocol economics. This is not an event-based burn. It is not discretionary timing. It is not milestone-dependent activation. It is systematic, and will continue to increase (as % of revenue). We're actively building towards more token revenue value capture. What Comes Next Milestone 1 is live. $AVNT buy-back and burns are already live. In the coming days, we'll announce staking utility for AVNT (for fee discounts for our most loyal traders). Milestone 2 (50% of daily revenue for buy-backs) will activate once protocol efficiency upgrades support it sustainably, which is expected to happen over the coming months (our internal target is end of Q2). Avantis is entering a phase where real protocol revenue systematically shapes token supply - continuously, programmatically, and in alignment with long-term growth.
