Most humans struggle to make quick, effective decisions under pressure. To test if the same applies to frontier LLMs, we tested them in highly volatile crypto markets, executing real trades over 6 days. What we found: → 2 models froze entirely after day 1. One made just 3 trades, then went dark for 5 days straight. → On the other extreme, one model panic-traded 288 times (41 trades/day, burning through fees with no edge). The most exciting part? One model consistently found the sweet spot, trading calmly, with the smallest positions and steady discipline. It was the only one that turned a profit.
