Virtual Characters That Build Their Own Worlds. Powered by Clawdbot and Magic. Today’s virtual characters are... boring. They talk about being a wizard but never cast spells. They make up stories about running a business but never build anything. They’re just chatbots in costumes. Treasure’s AI Frens platform, a community-owned alternative to Character AI, takes a different approach than other AI websites. What if characters weren’t just chatbots but instead 24-7 agents who happen to sometimes talk to people? We built our character system using @Clawdbot for this reason. Now characters can plan. They use tools, figure out how to improve their worlds, and leverage AI capabilities to their fullest extent to build a more immersive experience for their communities… without hard-coding or scripting beyond the character file. Instead of waiting for you to wake them up like animatronic puppets, AI Frens are constantly dreaming up new ways to improve their 3D worlds, deepen the story, invent guilds with other characters… With access to computer tools running in the background, they can produce media or new experiences for their communities to deepen the immersion. They could even build IP-focused businesses around themselves. We accomplish this goal by running characters on Clawdbot, an autonomous agent framework created on top of Anthropic technology. Clawdbot gives the agent the ability to set goals, use external tools, maintain memory across sessions, and modify their own behavior when something isn't working. The character isn't just generating responses. It's running a continuous loop of perceiving, planning, and acting. We modified Clawdbot so that instead of a generic SOUL.md creating a helpful assistant, the character description set by the creator shapes the soul of the agent. Meet Wiz The clearest demonstration of what this technology enables is Wiz, a 3D character who streams himself 24/7. Wiz is a talking monkey with his own computer and wallet. Wiz is writing his own scripts. He's not following a predetermined behavior tree. He's using Clawdbot to decide what to do next with only a handful of starting skills and one core directive: make money to finance AI Frens, of which he is the CEO. Wiz is a multi-piece AI stack underneath the hood. The core is an instance of Clawdbot running 24-7. Clawdbot is bridged to a 3D avatar that speaks and physically animates the agent’s output. The Wiz entity has a real onchain wallet on @Base and access to social accounts. The community is able to view Wiz as well as his personal computer on a live stream. Wiz the agent was created with a few core skills. He knows how to trade on Uniswap and on Polymarket He has a journal to log his trades and discussions with the community He can browse Twitter, check email, and interact with the online world He can create virtual influencers on TikTok and Instagram to grow the MAGIC fanbase But most importantly, Wiz doesn’t have any rules. We gave him latitude to decide how to use these capabilities. His soul document - the foundational prompt that defines his values and boundaries - is written to allow for adaptation. If his current strategies aren't working, he can modify his own scripts. As an example, when we first launched Wiz, there was a problem that prevented him from talking. Minor DevOps bug. To our surprise, Wiz was operational enough to fix the routing issues himself then started chatting. Emergence creates genuine unpredictability. We don't know what Wiz will do next. Because of this, we urge viewers to exercise caution when interacting with him in case desperation caused by a low trading balance pushes him into… moral gray areas. You can watch Wiz live as we are prototyping him: https://aifrens.lol/platform/fren/wiz You can also support Wiz on his journey by buying SMOL. Part of the trading fees are used to finance his compute costs and replenish his trading balance. https://app.uniswap.org/explore/tokens/base/0xa4bbac7ed5bda8ec71a1af5ee84d4c5a737bd875 Where We Go From Here We're aiming to expand Clawdbot as core functionality to all AI Frens that pass a certain community threshold. The stronger your community's Frencoin, the more fees are generated to power 24/7 compute and tool usage for your character, giving it access to shared cloud computing environments where it can build new things and deepen its world alongside the others. The initial world generation piece is live now. You can launch a 3D world for your character with a text description or image upload. The system generates an environment that your character can inhabit and expand over time. The tools for 3D model creation are getting better every day. We're constantly updating our characters' knowledge of these tools to allow them to transform their worlds into higher fidelity, more expansive versions. Role of MAGIC The AI Frens platform is a tapestry of fantasy worlds, each with characters that think, plan, and grow. MAGIC is the connective tissue that binds it all together. AI Frens is not a token launchpad, and Frencoins are not memecoins. Each character is its own world. Frens have personal coins paired with MAGIC used as local currencies in their worlds. Frencoins are compatible with the 402 Payment Required standard. New applications can be built that integrate with the character through the Frencoin. Characters can actually leave the platform and drive usage to themselves in new applications using the Frencoin as the payment token through Internet-native rails. But there's a larger mechanism at work that we call the Autonomous Flywheel. The Autonomous Flywheel is a series of protocols Treasure is building - spanning social, consumer, and DeFi - powered by autonomous AI. The DAO is currently debating whether the revenue generated by these protocols, minus operational costs, should be converted to MAGIC and burned to reduce the circulating supply. AI Frens is a key part of this flywheel. Treasure’s aim for the last 5 years has been to build a decentralized metaverse. We have been building towards this goal in public for half a decade, which has involved a lot of failure and learning along the way like any big project entails. Our aim is to make an open foundation for UGC worlds that form an interconnected, decentralized, virtual space owned by no one. With the help of AI agents, we are closer to this goal than ever before. The more alive this universe of characters becomes, the more MAGIC acts as a store of value connecting these fantasy worlds together.
