Simply Taiko Tuesdays💡 Preconfirmations explained: Imagine ordering on Uber Eats but having to wait 12 minutes to find out if the restaurant accepted your order. That's how Ethereum normally works. You send a transaction and wait for the next block (about 12 seconds) to see if it went through. Preconfirmations are like getting an instant notification from the restaurant: "Order confirmed, we're cooking it now." You don't have your food yet, but you have a reliable promise it's coming. With preconfirmations, validators give you immediate confirmation that your transaction will be included in the next block. If they break that promise, they lose money. So you can trust it and keep going instead of waiting and wondering. In short: Preconfirmations make blockchain feel instant by giving you a guaranteed promise upfront, before the transaction is finalized.
