Jihan Wu: The First Person to Translate the Bitcoin Whitepaper into Chinese Jihan Wu, Co-founder of Bitmain and Co-founder & Chairman of Matrixport, said in an interview with Bitcoin com on October 22, 2019, that during a time when most Chinese media portrayed Bitcoin as either a "scam" or something that "could not possibly work", his background in economics and computer science allowed him to recognize Bitcoin's technological and economic viability. This led him to become the first person to translate the full Bitcoin Whitepaper into Chinese. He explained that his intention was to break through the prevailing media bias of that era and help the Chinese community understand Bitcoin in a more objective and rational way — a move that later became foundational to Bitcoin's early awareness and adoption in China.
