Disinflation: Resetting Pace for Long-Term Stability This week, we’ve begun implementing the disinflation adjustment approved through UIP-11 - a shift that slows issuance, simplifies mechanics, and strengthens the protocol’s foundation. This marks a meaningful recalibration of how the system balances incentives, supply, and growth. Over the past year, USUAL has scaled quickly. Demand for $USD0 has grown, integrations have expanded, and the protocol now operates with clearer product direction and stronger fundamentals. It became clear that supply and demand were no longer aligned. Mechanisms designed for the launch phase began generating more sell pressure than stability. Disinflation addresses that. It transitions the system from high-velocity expansion to a more durable, sustainable structure. At a high level, the adjustment: Reduces daily emissions by more than 50% Removes roughly 90% of structural farming-driven sell pressure Converts USL into a zero-coupon model without reward emissions Establishes a projected total supply of 3B $USUAL Simplifies $USD0++ behaviour for more predictable integrations Trades short-term activity for long-term stability and clearer economic signals The community has asked why strong protocol performance hasn’t translated into long-term value. Disinflation is the structural response. By tightening issuance and removing extraction loops, it allows fundamentals, not emissions, to shape the system again. This adjustment also creates the conditions needed for the next phase, where token design supports the product rather than defines it. Implementation begins now. USUAL moves into a more deliberate, stable operating mode. Disinflation is the first step. (More to share shortly...)
