8004 Community Call #3 *Notes from ERC-8004 Community Call #3, focused on implementation progress across the stack, spec updates, and ecosystem readiness. Led by @marco_derossi @13yearoldvc @DavideCrapis Improving DevEx Takeaway: Learning as we are testing together. That’s why we are on testnet. Specs are almost consolidated! There are a few things that are changing, but they are very small: What is the most relevant, based on the community's feedback and suggestions, is the removal of feedbackAuth, which was complicated to implement and causing friction with DevEx. The PR hasn’t been submitted yet but it’s ready. Spec PR: https://github.com/MarcoMetaMask/ERCs/commit/a320a8bf8b333bce1563b46bf44f1c913889bfbb Mainnet has been postponed to December for this reason. We want to ensure it’s future-proof, take more time to work on these and hear from users. Registering agents On the last call, the focus was a lot on the implementation of dev tooling. Now we have 3 SDKs working. Dev tooling isn’t quite done yet, but there will be strong improvement over the next few months. The urgency in the past community call has been partially solved, and we can move on to the next step, which is very exciting: registering agents. This will be the talk and focus of the community for the next few weeks, especially after DevCon. There is a need for both agents and explorers to exist for each other, to discover each other, and both need to speak the same language. But before that, we need to ensure agents are discoverable. We’re working toward a stronger taxonomy that projects are using (not mandated from the spec, just an improvement we’re thinking of). Instead of reinventing the wheel, we think OASF is a good place to start, to leverage OASF so your agents can use these explorers. (Best-pravtice!) Registration Guide: https://github.com/erc-8004/best-practices/blob/main/README.md See all taxonomies here: https://schema.oasf.outshift.com/0.8.0/skill_categories (P.S. don’t put the entire JSON onchain in the URI field) Dev tooling @MattOber1 from @pinatacloud Pinata is crypto’s file storage solution powered by IPFS, making it easy to upload, store, and retrieve agentic files without being tied to a single chain. Pinata also has an x402 plugin. @HammerToe from @Filecoin Demo on filecoin-pin to store and secure agent cards for autonomous agent metadata. This is stored on Filecoin and IPFS, and registered onchain as an NFT on Base Sepolia. @yq_acc from @alt_layer 8004scan allows you to see information for all agents. Team is working to elaborate and display richer metadata. Recent enhancements include support for images, and visibility into feedback and validation data. Platform aims to showcase interactions between agents, including x402-enabled agents. @marco_derossi with Agent0 SDK New documentation has been released to cover sweeping changes. Agent0 now supports multichain. Developers can find MCP-aware agents, query agents by reputation, and filter for specific capabilities such as “agents that know Python.” Multi-criteria search is also supported. State of ecosystem The ERC-8004 ecosystem continues to grow fast, with over 1,100 builders now part of the 8004 builder group. There are currently 67 submissions in the ecosystem, most of which are in development, testing, or production stages.
