People say we're late to make Potatoz the mascot of 9GAG. Maybe. But timing matters more than speed. We launched Potatoz NFTs in July 2022. That's 3 decades in crypto years. The markets have matured a lot since then. Onboarding is getting simpler, and governments/regulators have started to recognize crypto as part of a real industry. More importantly, the gap between both worlds has narrowed enough to build a real bridge while we work on our products. That's why it's time to open our Web2 channels and let Potatoz run. In one month, 9GAG Potatoz videos have: - 19M views on Instagram - 15.1M views on X 35M+ people seeing a Potatoz IP across mainstream platforms. And collaborations with brands like @Predatorgaming that bridge even further (more soon). We could've rushed this when hype was high, but that would’ve been short-sighted. Neither side would’ve understood what we were building. Now, all that work is compounding in public. 9GAG gives us the reach most dream of. @Memeland gives it meaning. $MEME gives it power.
