Chainbase Integrates x402 Protocol to Power Instant, Pay-Per-Request Data Access Chainbase, the leading Hyperdata Network and Web3 data infrastructure provider, has officially integrated the x402 open payment protocol into its core platform. Developed by Coinbase, x402 revives the HTTP “402 Payment Required” status code, enabling instant, stablecoin-based payments directly within data requests. This upgrade transforms how AI agents, developers, and applications access blockchain data, shifting from fixed subscriptions to on-demand, pay-per-request transactions. With x402, AI agents can autonomously pay for every API call or data sync; no accounts, no keys, no intermediaries. Developers gain flexible access to Chainbase’s multi-chain data through seamless micro-transactions, while the network benefits from real-time value capture tied to actual data usage. Upgrading the Chainbase Platform Payment Model The integration of x402 enhances Chainbase’s existing subscription plans (Free, Developer, Enterprise) with a new Pay-Per-Request model, designed for ultimate flexibility and automation. “The integration of x402 brings Chainbase one step closer to a fully automated, agent-native data economy,” said the Chainbase team. “It turns data access into a direct value flow — open, programmable, and aligned with the AI era.” The new Pay-Per-Request model complements existing subscription tiers and will roll out to select partners in November 2025, with public access to follow. More details please refer to: https://platform.chainbase.com/pricing For Developers and Partners The first batch of Chainbase APIs and Data Sync services integrated with x402 will enter closed testing in November 2025 with selected developer and enterprise partners. Existing subscription users will continue to enjoy their current service tiers. Developers interested in Pay-Per-Request access can refer to the Chainbase documentation for setup and client integration guides coming soon. Chainbase invites AI developers, Web3 protocols, and infrastructure builders to explore how x402 can empower the next generation of autonomous agents and data-driven applications. A Step Toward the Agent Economy The integration of x402 is more than a feature update; it’s a key step in building the economic infrastructure for AI-native agents. By combining verifiable data, on-chain settlement, and autonomous access, Chainbase continues to push the frontier of how machines interact, transact, and learn. Stay tuned for early-access announcements and developer documentation coming later this quarter.
