The former governor turned mayoral candidate is set to announce plans to create a new Chief Innovation Officer to make NYC “the global hub of the future” if elected. The CIO would coordinate blockchain, AI and biotech initiatives across city agencies, attract jobs and investment, and modernize how the city uses and integrates new technology. Cuomo’s plan, I’m told, also includes an Innovation Council made up of three advisory committees for crypto, AI and biotech. The council would advise on adoption, workforce development and cutting red tape for these emerging industries. Story developing.
