AI is transforming how software interacts with the world, and payments will be no exception.  At Circle, we believe @USDC is uniquely suited for machine-to-machine micropayments. It is programmable, interoperable, and near-instantly usable across the open internet. To explore this frontier, we’re laser focused on incubating prototypes and products at the intersection of crypto and AI. We’re excited to share our proposal to connect Circle Gateway with x402, an open payment protocol purpose-built for agentic transactions, and our participation with @Google on their A2A (Agent2Agent) and our contributions to AP2 (Agent Payments Protocol). We’ve posted our proposal to the x402 GitHub and invite developers, researchers, and ecosystem participants to review and contribute. Together, we can create the infrastructure that empowers humans and AI agents to participate seamlessly in the same internet economy.
