Nodes are cool – but someone has to run them. In this series, we’re spotlighting the teams that do it. Today: @stake2earn How many nodes do you operate? stake2earn is currently operating over 10 nodes across various mainnet blockchain networks. These nodes support different protocols and play a key role in ensuring network security, decentralization, and reliability. By actively maintaining and validating on multiple chains, stake2earn contributes to the overall health and performance of the ecosystems How did you find SQD? We first discovered SQD through a post on X and then read more about it on CoinList. Our founder, Alex, came across the announcement and was intrigued by the project’s vision and potential. After doing a bit more research into SQD’s mission and technology, we became increasingly interested in getting involved. How did you find setting the node up? Was it easy/difficult? The initial setup was relatively straightforward, thanks to the clear and well-written documentation provided. The active support from the community on Telegram also made the process smoother. That said, having a solid understanding of Docker and basic server management is important to ensure a successful and efficient setup. Are you enjoying the gains? Yes, absolutely. Beyond the financial rewards, what we really value is being part of a forward-thinking project like SQD. It's rewarding to contribute to a growing ecosystem and see our infrastructure play a role in its development. Recommendations or top tips if you want to start? If you're thinking about getting started, here are some key recommendations based on our experience: 1. Join the community early – The Telegram groups are extremely active and helpful. Being part of the conversation from the beginning gives you valuable insights and keeps you ahead of potential issues. 2. Start small – Launch with a single node to understand resource usage and performance. Once you're confident with the setup, you can scale accordingly. 3. Monitor everything – Use monitoring tools to keep an eye on memory and disk I/O. Indexing can be resource-intensive, so it’s important to track your system’s performance. 4. Stay up to date – The project evolves quickly, with frequent updates and performance optimizations. Following announcements and changelogs closely ensures your setup remains compatible and efficient. 5. Invest in good hardware – Don’t cut corners on SSDs or RAM. These components directly impact node stability and indexing speed, so reliable infrastructure pays off in the long run. Time to maintain the nodes per week/month? After the initial setup, maintaining the nodes is quite manageable. On average, we spend less than 1 hour per week, or around 3–4 hours per month. This is for on routine tasks like monitoring, checking logs, and ensuring everything is running smoothly. Occasional software updates or adjustments may require a bit more time, but overall, node maintenance is low-effort once the system is properly configured.
