[Farcast] @balajis.eth Ah, I'm arguing that if you're a _borderline hater_ of a technology for power dynamics reasons (eg. see the quotes I had at the start of the post), then it's often worthwhile to instead be an open source zealot for that technology. If you're a borderline hater, then you're close to indifferent whether the tech will succeed or fail, so the risk that the tech will fail due to lack of profit or activation energy (or conversely, succeed due to greater info sharing) is a risk worth taking for the sake of the reliably-positive consequences of whatever gets built being open instead of closed.
