Rujira: A Clean Slate Rujira solves the core problem that ThorFi couldn’t: unlocking programmability for native assets without introducing risk to THORChain’s base layer. How is that possible? 1️⃣Rujira is not a Layer 2, nor is it an external chain. It is an embedded App Layer that runs within THORChain itself. It shares the same validator set, block time, and consensus and thus does not introduce new trust assumptions. 2️⃣Smart contracts on Rujira (written in CosmWasm) are modular and permissionless but they are also sandboxed. A contract cannot access vaults, bypass signature, or interfere with base-layer consensus. 3️⃣If a Rujira app fails or is exploited, the base layer remains unaffected. Thanks to strict separation of logic and the use of Secured Assets, any damage is contained. 👉All in all, Rujira’s architecture gives developers the freedom to build and experiment, without compromising the integrity of THORChain itself.
