Stocks & Indices Return to gTrade: Pushing the Boundaries of Onchain RWAs In 2022, gTrade became the first and only PerpDEX to offer perpetual contracts on RWAs across stocks, forex, and commodities — a bold move that pushed the boundaries of onchain trading at a time when it was far from the dominant narrative. Now, after pioneering the initiative years ago, stock and index perps are back on gTrade. Today, gTrade listed 13 stocks and indices, expanding on its existing offering of 250+ crypto, forex, and commodities to bring the most complete RWA trading experience onchain. Stocks: Typically range between 0.03% and 0.05%, with the higher end applied to less liquid or more volatile equities. Indices: Fixed at 0.01%, reflecting their deeper liquidity and lower volatility profiles. These spreads are applied consistently and transparently, without hidden markups or slippage — giving traders full visibility into the cost of entering and exiting positions. 🧮 Liquidation thresholds Liquidations on gTrade’s stock and index pairs follow the same mechanism as the crypto pairs. The threshold is dynamic and depends on the leverage used. To protect users and maintain market integrity, liquidations are processed instantly and transparently through smart contracts, with no central counterparties involved. You can read more about liquidation logic and examples in the docs. 📊 Liquidity Thanks to gTrade’s synthetic architecture, all stock and index pairs are supported by deep liquidity and large open interest caps — without relying on fragmented order books. This design ensures that traders can open and close positions with consistent execution, regardless of current market activity. Each asset is backed by a maximum Open Interest (OI) cap per pair, which defines the total amount of exposure allowed on that specific market. In addition, there are maximum OI caps per group (e.g., all stocks or indices). These parameters are reviewed regularly and adjusted dynamically based on demand, volatility, and vault conditions to ensure optimal balance between market access and protocol safety. 📅 Events Scheduled events such as earnings reports, central bank announcements, and key macroeconomic data releases can cause sharp volatility in stock and index markets. To maintain fair and stable trading conditions during these periods, gTrade applies temporary risk controls to relevant pairs: Spread multipliers are applied around major stock-specific events, temporarily widening spreads to account for increased slippage risk and reduced price predictability. Exact timing and parameters may vary — to be announced in the interface. Maximum leverage is reduced during and around high-impact events to manage risk and protect vault health: Stocks — Max leverage reduced to 5x Indices — Max leverage reduced to 10x 🌍 Accessibility Stock and index trading is not accessible to users located in the United States or other OFAC-sanctioned regions. Access is automatically restricted based on IP and other geolocation methods. As always, users are responsible for ensuring that access and use of the platform comply with local laws and regulations in their respective jurisdictions. Note: Stock and index pairs are only available on Arbitrum and Base. Oracles & Lookbacks RWAs on gTrade offer traders a best-in-class experience — not just in asset breadth, but in execution quality. ⚡ Medianized, High-Frequency Pricing, and Fast Fulfilments Each price update on gTrade is sourced through a decentralized oracle network that aggregates inputs from multiple node operators and feeds. Instead of relying on a single source, the protocol medianizes prices before posting them onchain, ensuring that traders interact with the most accurate and manipulation-resistant prices available. But accuracy is only half the equation — speed completes it. gTrade's oracle system broadcasts updated prices every 25 milliseconds, provided there’s a market change. This low latency ensures that traders receive near-instantaneous pricing updates, allowing them to enter or exit positions with confidence and precision. To illustrate, trades on gTrade are fulfilled >2.5x faster than on comparable onchain PerpDEXs. From fetching prices, to transaction confirmation, to determining the exact execution price — the full pipeline is optimized for speed to push the limits of onchain RWA trading. This matters most for RWA traders, where every second of latency increases the chance of slippage, missed entries, or poor fills. On gTrade, those risks are significantly reduced. 🔁 Lookbacks: Execution You Can Trust gTrade also offers lookbacks — a unique feature that guarantees traders receive the exact price that was visible when their transaction was mined. This effectively eliminates the uncertainty that typically exists between signing a transaction and seeing it settle onchain. For RWA traders especially — who are often dealing with slower-moving markets or tight entry windows — this provides confidence in execution. Note: Lookbacks do not cover price gaps (e.g., when markets are closed and reopen with a significant jump), but under continuous pricing conditions, they ensure you always get the price you clicked.
