🔒 Privacy isn’t about hiding — it’s about control. In a world where surveillance is the default, using open-source tools is one way to push back. In Web3, privacy isn’t a bonus — it’s part of what decentralization is supposed to mean. 🔍 Open source matters because trust shouldn’t rely on branding. When the code is open, people can verify what a tool does (and doesn’t). That’s the difference between “just trust us” and “see for yourself.” Freedom, like good software, doesn’t come prepackaged. It gets built. One example is @signalapp. It’s not perfect, and it’s not the most decentralized tool. But it’s open source, end-to-end encrypted, and avoids ads, tracking, and metadata collection. That counts for something in a world where most infrastructure is designed to extract rather than protect. You own your keys. 🗝️ Do you own your conversations? Maybe it’s time we start asking that more often.
