in session at @lagrangedev’s Proof Point debating TEE vs ZK as the future of secure computation with a hot take from @melynx: TEEs exist in this unique equilibrium where they offer: _relatively good performance _are relatively cheap to operate _are relatively abundant with access to different hardware vendors (NVIDIA nvtrust/Intel SGX or TDX/AMD SEV-SNP/AWS Nitro) _relatively good guarantees on the integrity and confidentiality of computation being run on it One of the tradeoffs is the inherent trust assumption in hardware manufacturers, but (actually) a relatively acceptable tradeoff. And to the chatter on TEE exploits, I want to make a point that all code is being written by humans. In fact, humans write bugs. Code is just a happy by-product :) cooked convo with @theyisun from @axiom_xyz - moderated by Franklin on the Lagrange team!
