CURATED CONVERSATION ✧ DERECH @anloremi sat down with @IDerech to discuss his artistic journey, shaped by his upbringing in Mexico—from chaos and tragedy to a serendipitous stay in Japan during the pandemic, where he roamed the streets with his camera and met the woman who changed his life. Inspired by Japanese culture and the simplicity and depth of haiku, Derech employs a disciplined format of three-panel, 17-second narratives, transforming everyday life and overlooked details into timeless moments, meditative experiences, and deeply personal stories. Embracing an approach similar to omakase, Derech crafts art that delivers personalized experiences for collectors while surprising them with his unique artistic vision and the unpredictability of chance encounters. In @IDerech’s world, time slows down—people find calm, beauty, and connections within the rhythms of life in Japan.
