Ronin is different. Ronin is more than a blockchain — it's a gaming chain, poised to revolutionize how games are distributed and played. Ronin was initially built to serve the specific needs of a single game and its community: Axie Infinity. This focus on a dedicated user base has allowed us to fine tune Ronin to work specifically for games and has forced us to hone our distribution strategy to do one thing very well: attract gamers and convert them into web3 users and advocates. This set the tone for what products and community members seeded the initial DNA of the ecosystem. Much like how Amazon began with books, or Apple with the personal computer, our targeted approach has set us up to start small and focused, and gradually increase the scope of what Ronin excels at over time. Ronin started very niche. Serving just one game. Over time, we’ve added more applications, more games. In the future, it’s likely that Ronin can use the momentum it accrues from gaming to become a primary distribution channel and adoption layer for financial apps. In this way, Ronin can leverage its ability to attract users via immersive games to create a mechanism for converting these users into using other applications that are powered by blockchain technology. In fact, we’ve already partnered with Gcash, a Phillipines based payments app (think Venmo of PH), to allow their 80 M + active users to purchase RON. Of course, we also have Katana, a dex for gamers. Imagine logging in with your Ronin wallet to Shopee or Amazon in the future and seamlessly paying for goods with your Ronin wallet. We actually trialed this via the Axie Merch Store in November of 2023, where over 60% of all transactions were made using Crypto instead of Credit card. We've also partnered with @coinsph to release a PH Peso stablecoin on Ronin. These two integrations point the way.
