XRPL Fixes Decade-Old Bug That Could Have Minted Trillions of XRP RippleX and the XRP Ledger Foundation disclosed that a critical payment-engine overflow bug could have allowed an attacker to create spendable XRP beyond the network’s fixed supply using a specially crafted transaction. The issue, present in code dating back to 2015, was reported through the XRPL bug bounty program and fixed in xrpld 3.4.1 on September 25, with more than 80% of default validators upgraded that day. Security researcher Cayden Liao said his team’s proof of concept could mint about 18 trillion XRP in a single transaction, roughly 184 times XRP’s intended 100 billion supply, and earned the program’s maximum $250,000 bounty. XRPL said it found no evidence the flaw was ever exploited on a public network.

While Fiber and Lightning are two separate payment channel networks, we figured there doesn’t need to be a hard boundary between them. Fiber’s Cross-Chain Hub can connect the two and let payments move atomically across both networks. Here’s how it works 👇 A hub operator runs a node on Fiber and a node on Lightning, maintaining liquidity on both sides. If you want to pay a Lightning invoice from Fiber, you send a conditional payment to the hub. The hub then uses its own BTC liquidity to pay the recipient over Lightning. The same process works in reverse for payments coming from Lightning into Fiber. Crucially, these are not two unrelated payments. Both sides are tied to the same payment hash. Lightning uses an HTLC, while Fiber uses its own time-locked contract. When the recipient claims the outgoing payment, they reveal a secret preimage that also allows the hub to claim the incoming payment. So the hub can’t simply take your payment and fail to settle the other side. Its ability to collect is cryptographically linked to successful settlement of the outgoing payment. If the payment never completes, the timelocks provide a recovery path for the locked funds. Currently, the Cross-Chain Hub supports one configured pairing: a wrapped-BTC token on Fiber ↔ BTC on Lightning. Support for native CKB and other user-defined tokens is in the works :) 👉 https://www.fiber.world/

Google paid $2.7B to bring one of its top AI researchers back. Then cut his team’s compute allocation. He left for OpenAI. If compute can’t be guaranteed to a $2.7B hire, startups have no chance. H100 rental prices: up 60% in a year. Cloud providers now demand multiyear contracts and up to 30% upfront. The bottleneck isn’t talent or capital. It’s access. And that’s the problem @ionet is building against.

Papertrade Faces Allegations of BBO Price Manipulation on HyperEVM X user @Dr_bobo54 alleged that two wallets exploited Papertrade’s pricing mechanism by using roughly $20 million orders on Hyperliquid to move ETH quotes by 10–20 basis points while holding much larger long positions on Papertrade. The HyperEVM-based perpetual platform reportedly uses the midpoint of Hyperliquid’s best bid and offer as its execution price, making it potentially sensitive to short-term BBO manipulation. Trader Rune noted that Papertrade’s own documentation lists BBO manipulation as an unresolved protocol risk. The allegations have not been independently verified, and Papertrade has not confirmed any losses.

An analysis of 49 token callouts found that suspected linked wallets typically bought ahead of his posts and began selling within an average of three minutes after the first callout, sometimes while Ethan was still publicly bullish on the tokens. Bubblemaps estimated total profits and rewards of approximately $125,000, including $45,000 in trading profits and $80,000 in callout rewards. The wallet connections and earnings remain third-party estimates and have not been independently verified.

📢 http://Four.Meme Product Update: A Seamless Path from 4Stock to bStock 4Stock brings popular stocks onchain before their bStock is available. To ensure Stock Memes built on 4Stock can transition to bStock seamlessly, we’ve introduced a shared-inventory pool mechanism built on @PancakeSwap Infinity’s Shared Inventory Hook (SIH). How it works: - At graduation, a newly created Stock Meme opens its primary pool as Meme / 4Stock - Once the corresponding bStock is live, primary liquidity migrates to Meme / bStock in one step - The same meme inventory backs both pairs, so price and depth remain continuous and trading is never interrupted - Only one primary pool exists at any time, keeping each token fully compatible with aggregators No action is required from creators or holders. More Stocks. More Memes. Make Four Great Again. 📈

Star Xu: How Did USDe Leverage Loops Trigger the "1010" Crash? Description: OKX founder and CEO Star Xu @star_okx questioned Binance's promotion of USDe as a stablecoin on the New Era Finance Podcast @new_era_finance. He argued that USDe, issued by Ethena, is effectively a "tokenized hedge fund" and that a delta-neutral strategy does not imply zero or low risk. He further noted that Binance allowed users to borrow USDT against USDe, convert it into more USDe, and repeat the loop to increase yields, amplifying leverage and risk exposure along the way. In his view, this setup was a major cause of the cascading liquidations during the "1010" crash and represented a serious risk-control failure.

Four sessions. One focus: the future of the agent economy. Kite participated in four roundtables and panels at EastPoint:Seoul 2026, hosted by @0xEastPoint, exploring agentic commerce, financial infrastructure, and agent identity. The event brought together representatives from KakaoPay, @googlecloud, @Visa, LG Electronics (@LGE_Global), Samsung Card (@withSamsungCard), and Franklin Templeton (@FTI_US), alongside institutions including the Bank of Korea (@bok_hub) and Korea Exchange. Our CMO @Cindyshi0907 joined the main stage for “Machine-to-Machine Money: Agentic Commerce and the New Settlement Layer.” Joining her were Jansen Teng, Co-Founder of @virtuals_io; Joe Hwang, Regional Lead at @googlecloud; and Dennis Won, CTO of Newton Labs (@Newton_xyz). The panel was moderated by Jongsub Lee, Professor at Seoul National University. The session’s central questions: ▷ How can agents establish verifiable identities and transact within clearly defined permissions? ▷ Who should be accountable when an agent makes the wrong purchase or executes a transaction in error? ▷ Do agent payments need new settlement infrastructure, or can existing payment systems support them? These questions connect directly to Kite’s Human-Agent-Session identity architecture: distinguishing the person granting authority, the agent acting on it, and the permissions for each session. Thank you to @0xEastPoint for bringing this conversation together. We’ll keep building the infrastructure for trusted agentic commerce. 🪁

We're rolling out a few big changes to the Callout Rewards program over the coming days, starting with today's payout. Here's what to expect: - Callouts on lowcap tokens will be nerfed. We want callouts to incentivize larger wealth effects that affect more people, rather than only benefiting a small group of sophisticated traders - Volume will cease to be the main attributer for rewards. The focus will be on what matters most: whether the people that trusted your callout were able to make money or not. Going forward, your goal should be to lead your followers to victory, otherwise your chances of consistently earning are SIGNIFICANTLY lower. Win as a team —> win as an individual.
