The @FT highlights how Lloyds Banking Group and other lenders such as Natwest, Barclays & HSBC are leading UK banking into a new era through tokenised deposits and programmable money, a shift that could fundamentally reshape how money moves, settles, and is used across the economy. Tokenised deposits bring real cash onto blockchain infrastructure, enabling automation, real-time settlement, and smarter financial products from mortgages to payments and capital markets. At Quant, we’re proud to be working with leading banks on this transformation. As our CEO @gverdian notes in the article, tokenised deposits represent the evolution of electronic money into digital, programmable money - unlocking efficiency, liquidity, and interoperability across the financial system. This is about more than innovation. It’s about building the next generation of money and the infrastructure that underpins it securely, at scale, and connected across institutions. For decades, money has been electronic but fundamentally limited, operating through simple push-and-pull mechanisms. It hasn’t evolved in step with our digital world and with tokenised assets until now. The FT highlights how Lloyds and other UK banks are moving toward tokenised deposits, bringing real customer money onto blockchain infrastructure - a pivotal moment for finance and for money itself. Tokenised deposits mark the shift to programmable money: real-time, instant settlement, logic-driven execution. Unlocking new possibilities across payments, mortgages, capital markets, and liquidity. At @quantnetwork, we’ve been focused on this challenge for years: building secure, interoperable infrastructure that allows financial institutions to connect, transact, and innovate without fragmenting the system or compromising trust. The real transformation is about modernising the plumbing of the global financial system so money and assets can flow seamlessly across institutions, borders, and platforms - just like data does today. We’re now seeing banks move from experimentation to execution. The next generation of money is being built and the infrastructure behind it matters more than ever. Excellent discussion at yesterday's @InnFin Forum on "Capital Markets: The Road to Digitalisation." Thank you to Sharon Lewis (Hogan Lovells) for expertly chairing, and to my fellow panellists Rita Martins (London Stock Exchange), Martin Syms (BlackRock), Sendi Young (Fnality UK), and Gautam Pillai (Peel Hunt) for the insightful dialogue. Three critical points emerged from our conversation: The UK is at an inflection point. - Despite unfair headlines ranking London 17th in IPO performance, the fundamentals tell a different story, BlackRock invests over £500 billion into UK markets - Regulation is finally catching up to technology, moving us beyond experimentation into serious implementation - Major institutions entering with proper infrastructure and governance frameworks signals a pivotal shift Technology isn't the bottleneck, talent and integration are. - We need digital fluency embedded across finance and operations teams, not just IT - Integration with legacy systems is the real challenge, we must avoid costly 'big bang' failures - Incremental, pragmatic implementation is key (learning from the ASX's £250 million blockchain write-off) Tokenisation is securitisation on steroids. - New asset forms are becoming digitally accessible, creating unprecedented opportunities - London has a genuine chance to become the global focal point for digital assets settlement - Success requires: consistent early-stage capital, pragmatic regulation, and cohesive long-term vision across sectors At @quantnetwork, we're building the programmable, interoperable orchestration layer that bridges legacy infrastructure with emerging digital assets, because the path forward isn't revolution, it's intelligent evolution. The UK has the fundamentals. Now we need to move with urgency. #DigitalAssets #CapitalMarkets #Tokenisation #Fintech #Innovation #FinancialServices #interoperability

Thank you for the opportunity to speak with LNET and Isma on the role of international blockchain standards developed by organisations like ISO and participated by 50+ countries and experts from those in Technical Committee 307 (TC307). As an industry, we continue to make great progress, collaboratively developing international standards that enable the mainstream adoption of blockchain technology. My focus has always been on solving blockchain interoperability at a global level, through standards set by industry and adopted by industry. ISO was the ideal body to achieve this. The establishment of ISO TC307 in 2016, following groundwork that began in 2014, was also the genesis of the idea that led to the creation of @quant_network in 2015 to make blockchains interoperable, enterprise-grade, and ready for mainstream use. As the Convenor of Working Group 7 (Interoperability), I’m pleased to share that the ISO interoperability standard is nearing publication expected by late this year or early next year. We’ve now submitted the final draft for DTS review and approval. It’s been a long journey since 2017, but every step has been worth it to harmonise and standardise blockchain technology worldwide.

Interoperability has been in Quant’s DNA since the very beginning. Today, we’re sharing more on our vision for Quant Fusion the Institutional Layer 2.5 rollup network. The future of digital assets and tokenised money cannot be fragmented. Markets need a unified layer where institutions can issue, upgrade, and trade assets seamlessly and that’s exactly what Fusion enables. 🔹 For new assets: Institutions can issue directly into an interoperable Layer 2.5 network, instantly making them institution-grade and ready for global adoption. 🔹 For existing assets: Those already siloed on multiple blockchains can be unified into Fusion’s single interoperable layer. This removes fragmentation, reduces operational complexity, and unlocks liquidity across networks. Once assets are operating on Layer 2.5, they can natively be traded, swapped, and settled either within the network itself or with external Layer 1 chains and their assets such as USDC for liquidity. Our vision is clear: migrate institutional traffic onto Fusion, powered by QNT at the core. This will enable all participants to transact in a more efficient, secure, and interoperable financial system. This is the next step in making tokenised money and digital assets truly work for the world’s institutions. Start following @FusionLayer25 and look out for our testnet release shortly. #Quant #Layer25 #Interoperability #DigitalAssets #Tokenisation #Blockchain @quant_network

First Deutsche Bank, then Robinhood, early movers embracing their own Layer 2 networks. The momentum is undeniable, and the rationale is clear: institutions are ready to transition private, permissioned transactions and digital assets onto public blockchains. The drivers behind this shift: • Enterprise-grade infrastructure and integration • Scalability, speed, and global reach • Security and privacy, enabling enterprise security controls and compliance to extend into blockchain environments Relying solely on native Layer 1s constrains institutions. These platforms weren’t built for enterprise-scale operations and it shows with bridge hacks, scalability issues and faults in core blockchain components. At Quant, we envision a future where institutions overcome these limitations and benefit from all Layer 1 networks with built-in interoperability, enterprise-grade security, and seamless integration. This is made possible through our patented multi-chain rollup architecture as a new Layer 2.5. Just as enterprises operate secure networks on top of public internet carriers, they will run interoperable, multi-chain networks on top of Layer 1 blockchains. Introducing Quant Fusion, the institutional-grade Layer 2.5 built to accelerate the migration to on-chain finance. It’s no longer a question of if. It’s only a matter of when. We’re inviting institutions to be part of this transformation. Join us → @quant_network #QuantFusion #Layer25 #BlockchainInfrastructure #OnChainFinance #InstitutionalAdoption

Institutions are eager to embrace blockchain, but existing infrastructures often force them into a dilemma: - Engage with public blockchains and face compliance challenges. - Stick to permissioned networks and miss out on broader ecosystem liquidity. Quant’s latest blog introduces Layer 2.5, a novel approach designed to bridge this gap. Discover how Layer 2.5 offers: - Multi-ledger rollups for seamless interoperability across multiple blockchains. - Compliance-first architecture allowing institutions to select trusted validators. - Privacy-preserving smart contracts that don’t compromise on access to public liquidity. This isn’t just another scaling solution; it’s a reimagined infrastructure tailored for institutional needs.
