While legals are happening and we take every action possible to fix this problem. I want to lay out facts and events so community can see what is happening. If Ocean as stand alone project did this it would be classed as a rug pull! (Only my opinion)… On May 25, 2023, the Ocean Protocol foundation minted and transferred 719,100,000 OCEAN tokens to 0x4D9B76Df13DF257A674AEc7Ec7232741A6E73883.  On July 1, 2025, 661,218,319 OCEAN tokens were exchanged for 286,456,967.46 FET,  On July 3 and July 14, 2025 a total of 76,500,106 FET tokens were transferred to:  0xc248340B5ea577Ce21a924EaE23fAB587595a194  Of this amount, 21,200,000 FET were subsequently transferred to Binance and 55,300,000 FET to 0xfB19085AC3951cB0AF7B5A6126F4bfF8E2D1F8eE (an address linked to GSR Markets) On July 3 and July 14, 2025, a total of 13,500,000 FET tokens were transferred to address: 0x65a3C3e81Ba0efa17AF252a6B4CcE669deA9E595 (funding of this account came from EXAGROUP) the balance remaining in 0x4D9B7 was 196,457,400 FET tokens subsequently moved in a batch transaction to thirty newly created Gnosis Safe accounts on August 31, 2025. These have now mostly moved to Binance. More info to follow! I urge Binance, GSR and Exagroup to investigate these transfers and do the right thing! I stand united with the community and working to get this resolved asap. Open to any conversation with Ocean protocol, private or public!

    Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (@ASI_Alliance)

FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF SUPERINTELLIGENCE ALLIANCE LTD. On 09 October 2025, Ocean Protocol Foundation Ltd (“Ocean”) issued to the Board of Directors of the Company its Notice of Removal of Appointed Member Directors and of Resignation as Member of Superintelligence Alliance Ltd. (“Ocean’s Notice”). Also on 09 October 2025, Ocean issued certain statements (“Ocean’s Public Statements”) promoting the independent listing of the $OCEAN token on exchanges. These statements including Ocean’s announcement that “[a]ny exchange that has de-listed $OCEAN may assess whether they would like to re-list the $OCEAN token”. Comment The Board is in the process of seeking legal advice as to the consequences of Ocean’s conduct, and in particular Ocean’s Public Statements and related actions given the Board’s preliminary view that such conduct is in apparent breach of Ocean’s contractual obligations owed to https://t.co/OwdTdskBls and SingularityNET as well as to the aims of the Company. In view of that fact that those actions have had a material and significant financial and reputational impact on the ASI Community (among other aspects, there has been a negative impact on token price), it does not appear that Ocean and its Directors have been acting in the best interests of the ASI Community. The Board intends to seek urgent/immediate clarification/confirmation from Ocean as to its position/intentions before making a final decision as to what should be done. In the interim and as a matter of prudence and risk mitigation, the Board will suspend the operation of the conversion bridge pending confirmation sought from Ocean and a final decision of the Board. The Board is also taking legal advice with a view to protect and pursue its legal rights including obtaining restitution or compensation for the ASI Community for any wrongful actions. Legal advice is also being sought as to whether the 110 million FET tokens which have yet to be converted to the bridge can be put to the ASI Community to decide what should be done with those tokens including burning them.

Ocean's unilateral decision to exit the Alliance without any prior warning or discussion has raised many questions that need to be answered. While a legal process is in place, in my personal capacity, I have the following immediate questions and I also urge the ASI and Ocean communities to ask the same: 1. If Ocean were planning to leave the Alliance, why did you convert all Ocean community reward tokens in bulk a few months ago? 2. Considering Ocean confirmed more than a year ago that these tokens were community reward tokens controlled by OceanDAO, disclose who controls and who are the signatories of the SAFE wallet name OceanDAO?https://t.co/pKWVJbqVoT 3. The tokens were disbursed to multiple wallets which are apparently now owned/controlled by Ocean Expedition ("OE"). Disclose how OE is managed and owned? Where have the community tokens gone from there?https://t.co/0b6FNxnLnP 4. As Ocean has left the Alliance, do they not agree that the right thing for them to do is to return the community rewards tokens ($fet) so the community can decide what to do with them, ie burn them, redistribute them or lock them up etc? The community deserves answers and I will ensure we get them…@BrucePon @trentmc0

The Evolution of Compute: From Parallelism to Privacy-Preserving Decentralized AI The story of modern AI is inseparable from the history of computing hardware. In the 1950s–70s, massive mainframes (IBM 7000 series, CDC 6600, Cray supercomputers) centralized processing power in scientific and government labs, enabling the first batch jobs and early AI experiments. By the 1980s, the personal computer revolution (Intel 8086, x86 PCs, early workstations) put microprocessors on every desk, thanks to the explosive miniaturization of transistors described by Moore’s Law In parallel, high-performance computing (HPC) grew. By the 1990s, supercomputers with hundreds or thousands of parallel CPUs (e.g. Intel Paragon, Cray T3E) tackled scientific simulations. In the 2000s, graphics cards began a dramatic second life as parallel AI engines. NVIDIA’s CUDA platform (2006) unleashed GPUs for general-purpose computing (GPGPU). AI researchers quickly discovered that tens of GPUs could replace thousands of CPUs for training neural nets. For example, in 2011, 12 NVIDIA GPUs matched the deep‐learning throughput of 2,000 CPUs. This GPU parallelism became a cornerstone of modern AI, accelerating training by an order of magnitude or more. Around the same time, Google introduced TPUs (Tensor Processing Units) – ASIC chips specialized for neural-network math in 2015. Google reported TPUs delivered 15–30× higher performance than contemporary CPUs/GPUs on AI tasks (with even greater performance-per-watt). Meanwhile, Moore’s Law began to slow in the late 2010s as chips hit physical limits. This plateau led to specialization (GPUs, TPUs, FPGAs) and to scaling out via clusters and cloud datacenters. Today’s fastest supercomputers (like Summit, Frontier) combine thousands of GPUs in networked clusters, pushing beyond a billion compute cores. But even this massive scale struggles to keep pace with the insatiable compute demands of AI. In short, the evolution has gone from single cores to multicore CPUs, to GPU/TPU accelerators and massive clusters, each leap enabling bigger models and data. AI Workloads and Shifting Problems The evolution of hardware has directly shaped how AI systems are built and used. Training modern AI models like deep neural networks and transformers is a highly parallel process. Billions of examples are fed through the network over days or even weeks, running across thousands of cores. Training requires massive throughput: heavy matrix multiplications, high-precision math, and huge amounts of memory bandwidth. Inference, on the other hand, the stage where a trained model is actually used, is usually real-time or interactive. Here, the priority shifts to speed and cost efficiency. Each inference query is smaller than training, especially with techniques like quantization (which uses lower-precision math), but it must be repeated continuously at scale. In simple terms, training is a one-time, compute-heavy expense that demands maximum horsepower, while inference is a continuous service that must be optimized for every single query. GPUs helped cut training times dramatically, sometimes by 10–50×, but as models grew, inference latency became a new problem for real-world applications like chatbots or self-driving cars. To complicate things further, some modern AI systems blur the line. For example, advanced chatbots often run multiple inference passes for a single question (a technique called chain-of-thought), which increases the compute needed for each prompt. As AI workloads have grown, the main problems have shifted. Back in the 2000s, developers mainly pushed for faster CPUs and GPUs. Today, the limits are often in data movement, memory capacity, and energy consumption. Moore’s Law is no longer automatically delivering performance gains, so system designers now depend on other strategies: parallelism (using GPUs and TPUs), distributed computing across many machines, and specialized hardware like ASICs and neural cores. Cloud providers adapted by offering GPU-powered instances, managed clusters, and serverless ML services that hide much of this complexity. However, this shift also brought new challenges around trust, high costs, and data privacy, problems that centralized solutions can’t fully solve. Decentralized vs Centralized Cloud Traditional cloud platforms offer powerful compute services, but they require users to trust a central provider with their data and algorithms, often at high cost. This creates risks around censorship, lock-in, and loss of data custody. Ocean Nodes take a different approach: they form a peer-to-peer network of compute where jobs are executed under cryptographic guarantees. Instead of moving private data into someone else’s servers, Ocean moves the algorithms to the data. This design keeps ownership with the user, ensures censorship-resistance, and can make use of idle GPUs worldwide at more competitive rates. In short, Ocean Nodes bring the performance of cloud compute but with privacy, openness, and decentralization baked in, and with their full rollout coming soon in September, this decentralized alternative to today’s cloud will soon be a reality. This decentralized approach also improves censorship-resistance and trustlessness. No single company can unilaterally shut down all nodes or ban users from the compute layer, the network is community-governed via smart contracts. In short, Ocean Nodes aim to match the reliability and scalability of Web2 compute while keeping “privacy as a first-class citizen” and avoiding central points of failure. Unlocking Real-World Value Ocean Nodes bridge cutting-edge tech with practical use-cases. Key benefits include: Privacy-Preserving ML: Sensitive datasets (medical records, mobility logs, finance, etc.) can be used in AI models without ever leaving the owner’s vault. Data remains encrypted using Ocean C2D, so privacy is maintained even during computation. Scalable AI Serving: Models can be hosted and served across the peer-to-peer network. Instead of overloading a single GPU cluster, requests can be load-balanced among many Ocean Nodes worldwide. This P2P approach can reduce latency (by bringing compute closer to data) & yielding an elastic, serverless AI inference layer. Idle Compute Monetization: Individuals and businesses with spare hardware (CPUs or GPUs) can list their resources on Ocean and earn fees. Think of it as an Airbnb for compute: unused cycles become a revenue stream, democratizing access to GPU farms. Cost-Efficient Development: Smaller teams and startups gain on-demand access to high-performance compute without owning it. Instead of investing millions in a cluster, a researcher can budget for crypto tokens. This lowers the financial barrier to experimenting with large models or big data, fostering innovation. Web3 Mobility and IoT: Ocean stack is already powering emerging Web3/DePIN projects. For example, in Gaia-X’s MoveID initiative (a European project for mobility data standards), Ocean tech provides the Compute-to-Data infrastructure. This allows vehicles, sensors, and infrastructure to share data securely in a decentralized digital identity system. More broadly, the idea of “decentralized physical AI” (DePAI), robots and vehicles with on-board AI that taps a distributed compute fabric, is exactly what Ocean Nodes enable. Ocean Protocol compute layer, therefore, translates to real value: it makes privacy-friendly AI on health and mobility data possible, scales model deployment via a global P2P mesh, turns idle GPUs into income, and slashes costs for innovators. Compute is the fuel of AI, and Ocean Nodes are opening a decentralized refuelling station. By learning from decades of hardware evolution (from monolithic mainframes to fleets of GPUs), Ocean’s approach applies the latest in containerization, encryption, and token economics to meet the next generation of AI needs. For developers and AI practitioners, this means more scalability, privacy, and flexibility, without sacrificing performance. The age of centralized compute is meeting its successor, and Ocean Protocol is driving the transition toward a more open, efficient, and trustless compute future.

AI needs more than data, it needs trust in the data With Ocean’s on-chain tracking and Compute-to-Data, AI models can train on private datasets without ever moving them Here’s how it works: 1. Publish with Data NFTs – Data owners mint a Data NFT in Ocean, registering the dataset on-chain with a cryptographic proof (hash) while keeping the raw data private 2. Train via Compute-to-Data – AI models run on the dataset in secure, off-chain environments using Ocean Compute-to-Data, so the data never leaves the owner's control 3. Verify on-chain – The compute job posts a tamper-proof record (attestation) on-chain through Ocean smart contracts, proving it was executed as agreed 4. Automatic payment – Once the proof checks out, Ocean payment smart contracts release the funds instantly to the data provider & compute node With this, AI can tap into private, high-value datasets while data owners retain full control and privacy, with every transaction transparently tracked, verified, and economically aligned on-chain https://t.co/M0qOhbDJam
