Star Xu: Hyperliquid's Matching Engine Is More Market Maker Friendly OKX founder Star Xu @star_okx said on the New Era Finance Podcast @new_era_finance that Hyperliquid differs fundamentally from centralized order book exchanges in its technical design. While centralized exchanges process orders individually, Hyperliquid matches orders block by block and prioritizes cancellations within each block, allowing market makers to cancel orders ahead of takers. He believes this market maker friendly design explains why Hyperliquid's order book depth appears better than that of many centralized exchanges, while offering another approach for long-tail assets with limited liquidity.
