FLock is featured alongside Amazon Web Services, BT and Capgemini in @techUK's new report on delivering the UK’s 10 Year Health Plan 🇬🇧 “From Analogue to Digital: How the UK Tech Sector Can Deliver the 10 Year Health Plan” launched at the techUK Health and Care Summit in London, showcasing how digital tools and AI can help deliver the NHS’s 10-Year Health Plan, improve care and reduce costs. The summit brings together leaders from NHS England, NICE and the MHRA. Speakers include NICE CEO Professor Jonathan Benger and Professor Alastair Denniston, Chair of the National Commission into the Regulation of AI in Healthcare. Our case study features work with NHS researcher at UCL, Prof. Ken Li and clinical partners at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) on AI-powered glucose prediction for diabetes management, using models trained locally on data from 400+ patients across four continents. Privacy requirements and security concerns can hold back healthcare AI projects, leaving organisations relying on generic models that lack clinical specificity. With FLock’s federated learning platform, organisations train on their own data and share encrypted model updates. They can collaborate while keeping sensitive patient records local and maintaining data sovereignty. The report also looks at potential savings. We estimate that AI-driven prevention could save the NHS over £100M a year if it reduced diabetes-related costs by 1%, based on estimated annual costs of more than £10B. Our long-term goal is to replicate these models in more NHS trusts and extend this work to other jurisdictions, demonstrating how federated learning can support secure, privacy-preserving AI adoption at scale in healthcare. Thank you to techUK for featuring our work. We’re pleased to contribute to responsible AI development in the UK and its application in the industry.
